Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Here's proof Tesla is building a new mfg plant in Mexico. It was the worst kept secret this past year with some Mexican families I know that bought hundreds of acres local to this new plant. It's a given that the Fremont plant will close in 2024. Musk is paying too much to operate in CA and this makes sense to avoid the regs and give the finger to the unions. Makes perfect sense since other mfg's have been building cars there for 20 years.

Here we go again with your Mexico time share end days 🔮 of Tesla's most productive & expanding Fremont plant. Did you see Tsar Musk buddying up to Gavin ~last week while announcing Palo Alto HQ2? Yeah, he's really about leaving CA. 🤣

He's not closing Fremont. He's expanding elsewhere and has been. He did moved HQ from CA to TX but still retain a large presence in the area. Even more so, engineering HQ in California was announced just last week. https://electrek.co/2023/02/22/te...dquarters/ [electrek.co]
yes, aware of that. But Fremont and Newsom have a tenuous relationship with Musk. It only makes sense that Fremont will close as that's the most expensive to run, by far. Time will tell, but the economics make perfect sense and why so many companies moved there:

It takes time to ramp up production and not just building the factory and bam you get 100% ramp production. When you said 2024, you lost all credibility. The Mexico plant won't be built by 2024.

Also just because car manufacturers have a plant in Mexico doesn't mean that they are moving all production there going forward. It would be like the big 3 automakers uplifting from Detroit and moving everything to Mexico....not happening.

You must be smoking good stuff.

Moving HQ is easy. Moving an entire factory especially the size of Fremont - different beast. Telsa will not shut down Fremont factory anytime soon, especially not by 2024 when they are trying to manufacture 2M cars per year. You going to fully scale a factory in Mexico in 20 months to match Fremont? Get real.

The account number should be your Tower FCU member number or your loan number. I would email them and ask to confirm.
I enter the loan number in that spot. And I also uploaded the digital copy, and also mail them the original form with a notarized stamp as well to be safe.

The Loan number is safer bet and makes sense since that is what this loan is tied towards and is an easier trace in their system.

No, it makes literally no sense.

'tenuous'

You must not have seen Elon and Gavin buddying it up recently, Elon complimenting Gavin on his 1st Roadster. Also Elon doesn't have the autonomy to make completely idiotic decisions at Tesla as he does at Twitter.

'Time will tell'

Yes it will! In 2024 Fremont factory will be predictably busier than ever before & you'll push the goal post to 2025/26/27/28/29

Thank you.
Sorry if it's a stupid question, but where do you see the loan number? I only have the loan application number on the status page and conditional approval letter. I don't think I have a final loan number as they need this POA letter in order to finalize it, no?
