Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I ordered on 1/19 NJ, my estimated delivery date changed from 3/4-3/31 to 3/13-3/31. No VIN yet.
Same boat but my estimated changed now to April 1 - May 6th. Is the credit only good till Mar 31 still or was further guidance given?

Vin # assigned. Fremont build.

2/5 - placed order 11:25 PM estimated arrival 3/15 to 3/31)
2/10 - placed application with GCFCU
2/27 - estimated arrival changed to 3/18 to 3/31
3/1 - Vin # assigned.
3/1 - estimated delivery 3/15-3/22 now.

Not sure if there is another thread or somehow we can find other FCUs that have good rates. Current FCUs don't seem to be good options any more.

For Tower FCU, the conditional approval email says no later than 30 days from 2/1/2023 (3/3/2023). I just checked the online approval letter and it says no later than 2/27/2023. Which date should I go by? I just got my VIN and am hoping to use TFCU.

Just changed my late January MYLR order with standard 19" Gemini Wheels to the upgraded 20" Wheels and was instantly assigned a VIN and a new delivery date of next week. Looks like the rumor of the 19" Gemini wheels being out of stock may have been true. Not sure if others change their order, they will also be assigned a VIN +EDD that is quicker than current estimates.

**Just providing my personal experience and can not guarantee others not experiencing additional delays for adjusting their orders. YMMV**

My assumption is that NJ is super backed up in scheduling deliveries and as a result they are pushing out assigning Vin
I am in NJ, received Vin on Feb 21st and now patiently waiting for call/text/email to schedule delivery

So can your Tesla. It's a $350 option and then there's no monthly fee as I already mentioned.

Seems better than putting the HW in every car and charging every buyer for it upfront even those who would never use it.

The monthly fee is for folks who want to use MyQ instead of the older homelink system- and the fee isn't from Tesla it's from the people who own MyQ, who charge [B]every[/.B] car owner that wants to use in-car MyQ integration.
that makes sense. thanks.

Professional install with 3/4" EMT conduit, 4" grounded metallic box, #4 awg THHN wire, and industrial NEMA 14-50 outlet?

Or,

Firefighter's special with 1/2" PVC conduit (or no conduit), 6/2 Romex (or smaller), PVC box, and dryer 14-50 outlet?

Provide materials list and pictures/videos of your work.

I just received my Vin number yesterday afternoon at 3 PM and then we got a call from the Tesla dealer this morning saying we could pick it up starting today. I've had this car on order since January 19. Do you think this was possibly a rejection by someone else that the Vin number was assigned and then pick up the following day?
