Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

You'd think Tesla's IT is run by the same person that runs Twitter's IT....Wait, it is.

Call telsa tell them you go with third party finance, tell them the name of your lender and how much the amount that gonna be financed , make sure put them as your lien holder . Tell them send u a full purchased order. After u receive it send it to your lender. They need it. Plus the car insurance and power of attorney form with notary. The loan officer barely answers the phone I guess they r busy . You can leave text messages via app or tell the rep email them to call u back.

I purchased a Tesla Model 3 Performance and picking it up today.

I'm trying to confirm that it qualifies for the federal/state (MA) EV tax credit. When I was buying it, on the Tesla page, it showed that the vehicle price comes out to $54,990 (M3P + $1K for white interior). However, when I'm looking at the Registration & Title application, it's showing $56,630 for MSVRP & sales price....which would DISQUALIFY me for the tax credit.

The thing is the $56,630 includes $1,390 of destination fee + $250 of order fee. Can someone please advise? As this would make an impact on whether I pick it up or re-order.
Destination and order fee don't count. Model 3 has to be under 55k. Also Enhanced Autopilot or FSD do not count against the MSRP.

Just do a search for Tower Credit Union or Tower Federal Credit Union....whichever pops up in the search results list in the app and select that. Then all you need to do is just enter the Financed Amount that you were pre-approved for by Tower and it will automatically generate the Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement.

You don't need to do all that to get the Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement PDF. Just punch in Tower Credit Union or Tower Federal Credit Union whichever one pops up in the search results and select that in the app. It should prepopulate the address information of Tower FCU which should be a PO Box address. All you need to do is enter the Financed Amount and then it will give you the green check mark and generate the Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement PDF file in your Tesla account that you need to send to Tower.

Fianlly pickup my first car.

Ordered MYLR on Jan 18th, NY area. Basic configuration, white exterior black interior. Originally EDD is March 26-March 31. Revived my VIN# on Feb 22th. Schedule to delivery on March 6th on the app. Called ahead to confirm I can pickup earlier ( March 4th). Car is Austin built. Glovebox is not working, sesame seed size intact red spot on right passage side door. Financed with local MCU at 3.5% for 60 months.

Hope this help.

Thinking: If EV credits are reduced by IRS by 50% this month, there is a possibility of Musk offering prices reduced on MYLR below the 52990 initial offer in Jan. Maybe $51990? Any thoughts? I have reservation at 54990 base model MYLR. I wanted different color with white interior without any software upgrades. MA 55k cap limited me to base model colors. Delivery date at present is April 23-June 4. Again, any thoughts on price going down given stock taking a hit on declining sales at that time along with increase in interest rate. Thanks!

I know this has been shared previously. Can someone list out the CA rebates? I know CVRP is one of them. Mucho thanks. Got my MYLR today.

Lots of paint imperfections.
If you want to know all rebates/incentives available to you, no matter where you live, check out the following site: https://www.electricforall.org/wh...-is-right/. Just enter your zip code and car and it will tell you what's available to you.

For California specifically, make sure you check with your local Air Pollution Control District (APCD) or Air Quality Management District (AQMD). I'm certain the three largest ones (Bay Area, South Coast, and San Joaquin Valley) have incentive/grant programs for purchasing EVs. You'll need to check for eligibility at each one's websites. I've read through most of these posts and can't figure out why no one has even mentioned these options. I got more from these than I got from the CVRP. While I'm sure some people won't qualify due to income restrictions, the ones that do qualify are leaving a good amount of money on the table.

South Coast AQMD (Los Angeles area) - http://www.aqmd.gov/home/programs
Bay Area AQMD (San Francisco area) - https://www.baaqmd.gov/funding-an.../residents
San Joaquin Valley APCD (From Stockton to Fresno to Bakersfield) - https://ww2.valleyair.org/grants/
