Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

FINALLY got my VIN#. Looks like I got an Austin build although I'm in Southern CA.
I went ahead and uploaded a copy of my insurance. Not sure what to do with the Plaid thing. I'll be paying cash. If I link Plaid to my bank account, will they take the money before I get to inspect the car? Also, my delivery date got bumped from March 9-23 to March 21-27
Linking your plaid with bank account will not withdraw money. Only when you process payment which you can do on the day of pickup/delivery.

What are the thoughts on Premium Connectivity for $9.99 a month? Is it worth it?
I would get the yearly one for $99 over monthly.

You can enable hotspot your phone and connect your Tesla to it if you don't want to pay for premium connectivity. Downside to that is data cap for hotspot which depends on your cell phone plan... so if you are on a road trip sitting at a supercharger, you may be throttled or blocked due to data caps on hotspot if you already use. The other biggest downside is you won't be able to view your car live via Sentry mode (since you are away from the car with your phone).

Also FYI, standard connectivity is free for 8 years.

If you are paying cash(cashiers check), no need to complete the step of payoff
They will text you and you can tell them you are paying by Cashiers check
I received email day before to respond to their email how I am going to pay and I uploaded my check and responded to their email, they confirmed back via text that they have all my info and good to go

Picked up my MYLR 5 Base from Springfield, NJ Yesterday
Smooth process - SA tells you car is outside and unlocks the doors
There is a clipboard with your name on dashboard of car
Check out car for as many hours as you want and then sign the paperwork on clipboard and hand it inside and on your merry way
Overall great quality, less noise than my Acura and Honda Accords, drove at 85mph and no noise/shaking/vibration/pulling
Noticed small panel issues(my Acura RDX had more panel issues)and left headlight slightly bulging out(in millimeters). I never checked or noticed this stuff in previous cars, only after reading this thread I was looking for smallest of imperfections. Created service request and pending confirmation

Good luck to everyone

btw, while I am waiting for Electrician to install 240v outlet, I used Tesla mobile connector with regular 110 outlet and charged overnight to 80%(13Kwh) not bad in case of emergency
Congratulations! What was your order date and config

Is GAP protection advisable or a waste? Looks like ARMCO is offering it for $265 on a $53k loan. I thought these policies were way more expensive? My only reference point is my brother who paid $900 for GAP against a $34k loan on a Ford Mustang back in 2018.

I picked up my MYLR 2 days ago - nothing less than a miracle, with all I went through with TFCU!

Ordered on 1/15 white/white and standard everything else. Picked up at Portland (Tigard), OR

Car delivery delayed a few weeks - and that was a blessing. I was waiting for TFCU to finsih my memebership and hoped that the delay would give it more time. It did. TFCU notified me that they sent the check to Tesla (Freemont) one hour before my scheduled pickup time! They sent me a pic and tracking, which I texted to Tesla, and they said that was fine. 2.99% interest rate. But, so many bumps along the way. They had Docusign, trouble. I applied with a joint applicant and they repeatedly sent the docs for my co-signer to sign, and not me. I finally printed out the agreement, signed it with a pen, scanned it and uploaded it to TFCU. You need to be prepared to figure out work arounds if you deal with TFCU! As to the 30 rate lock - I picked up my car 31 days after the date of loan pre-approval.

I looked over my car and it had one small issue. The driver's door latch has to be adjusted, and I scheduled it.

Freemont build. Matrix headlights, mudflaps, PPF, and cargo cover (which is now standard). After I got a nice guy (Isaiah) to assist me with car questions (I had to kind of insist) it all went great! They even agreed to add extra charge (80%).

I am very relieved! I learned a lot from this thread - thanks to all!

premium connectivity also has a throttling cap, although ambiguous where that begins.

'Is there any limitation on excessive data use?

Yes. In some cases where data usage is deemed as excessive and exceeds a fair daily usage, we reserve the right to reduce connectivity bandwidth.'

with Hotspot, Premium connectivity is trash for $9.99 a month. JMO

lot of MY LR with 7 seats coming up in the inventory. Anyone checked out a 7 seater model Y? Is it worth paying extra for 7 seats? Are those two extra seats cramped (not practical) or can someone actually use them? Thanks in advance.

Just venting. EDD changed from Mar21-31st to Apr20-May25th. Ordered MYLR gray/black on feb3rd. I can only assume they are prioritizing the higher margin vehicles. I might be out $250 if they don't extend the tax credit.
