Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

lot of MY LR with 7 seats coming up in the inventory. Anyone checked out a 7 seater model Y? Is it worth paying extra for 7 seats? Are those two extra seats cramped (not practical) or can someone actually use them? Thanks in advance.
Not at all worth.

Just venting. EDD changed from Mar21-31st to Apr20-May25th. Ordered MYLR gray/black on feb3rd. I can only assume they are prioritizing the higher margin vehicles. I might be out $250 if they don't extend the tax credit.
That's not good. they should not have any inventory cars untill the current queue is taken care of as FIFO.

FINALLY got my VIN#. Looks like I got an Austin build although I'm in Southern CA.
I went ahead and uploaded a copy of my insurance. Not sure what to do with the Plaid thing. I'll be paying cash. If I link Plaid to my bank account, will they take the money before I get to inspect the car? Also, my delivery date got bumped from March 9-23 to March 21-27 Frown
Yes I am also in SoCal and if you just ordered a base white 5 seater MY LR with black interior, it is almost guarantee that it will be an Austin build. If you had a color, interior, wheel change then it is a better chance that it will be a Fremont build from what I have seen. You would think Tesla would ship the Austin build MY LR cars to all of the East Coast cities and nearby states and Fremont build MY LR cars to Californians and the West Coast due to distance but it doesn't seem to be the case. Of course all Performance models are built in Fremont so that would be the exception. I wish I was getting a Fremont build car for the Matrix headlights but I have gotten past it.

Is GAP protection advisable or a waste? Looks like ARMCO is offering it for $265 on a $53k loan. I thought these policies were way more expensive? My only reference point is my brother who paid $900 for GAP against a $34k loan on a Ford Mustang back in 2018.
You shouldn't need GAP insurance if you paid at least 20% down and your loan term is 60 months or less. Is the $265 a 1 time charge or per month?

Ok for smaller people or kids for short ride like taking extra kids to soccer practice but not good/comfortable for longer trips.

GAP should always be an one-time charge.

Thanks. I never look into it since it's sorta like a BS insurance because u don't need it if u do things right.

There is a time and place for GAP insurance, especially at just $265. I wouldn't consider it bs insurance, just potentially misused & misunderstood by many under sales pressure in traditional dealerships.

This exactly. Just because it doesn't suit one person or was pressured by salesperson at the dealership, it doesn't mean that it is bs. You have to do your own research and assess whether it is for you or not.
