Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I paid last week with Cashiers check to SA when I went to pickup
No need to ask them, just take the check with you
I know this thread is long, but many in this thread have confirmed paying with Cashiers check during pickup
Yes I can confirm that you can give them the Cashiers check in person since I picked up my Tesla last week. However like the original person said, Tesla emailed me to request seeing a picture of the cashier's check before hand they do want to see what the Cashiers check looks like and so I replied saying that I will be providing the cashiers check on the day of delivery so they knew not to expect a tracking number.

No, they will take the funds as soon as you pay in Plaid.

I paid 2 days ago, money is gone.

Scheduled pickup on my car is next week.

Not sure what happens if you reject, if they somehow back out the transaction and give you your money back. But they defiantly will take the money the moment you press the "Pay" button. Even if it is weeks ahead of time.
I waited a day before the scheduled pickup date to pay. It worked ok.

You didn't need to prepay for the car ahead of time. I told them that I was going to pay the remaining balance once I accept the delivery of the car. Makes it easier in case you reject the car.

But the thing is, they deleted my VIN saying I can't pick up in JAX if I'm registering it in GA. I still haven't got reassigned a new VIN for a week now. I know several people being able to pick up in different states so it's definitely BS what they did.
If it's an inventory stock, then yes, some dealers will not sell to out of state as they have specific allocations for that state only.

It says specifically which states you can register the inventory vehicle.

For example, GA inventory cars show the following: "This car can only be registered in AL, GA, SC"

For anyone who has recently taken delivery of a Model Y, if you're noticing a lot of interior noise, I'd encourage you to make an appointment at your closest Tesla service location. I took ours in today and it's significantly better (not perfect) after the adjustments, and it was fully covered. I'm disappointed we had to do this on a brand new vehicle, but I'm happy to know we won't have to live with that level of interior noise for the life of the vehicle.

You hope. I've had a M3P since 2020 and road noise is always there. They're using thicker glass since I bought mine though.

They keep pushing my delivery date by 1 day every day. Does that model Y still qualify for the full $7500 tax credit? Has the treasury department announced anything?

Do you know what adjustments they made?

After exactly a two month wait - my order was confirmed on January 17th - I finally took delivery of my MYLR, white, 20". Just drove it home and I must say that I am impressed. Delivery experience was good - nice and quick.

When you click on the Final Payment button it will ask you to add a Bank Account. When you click on the add a Bank Account button it will prompt you to connect to Plaid.

You are fine. There is no announcement yet and at this point I don't even know if we will hear anything by March 31st given the whole issue with the banks which are a bigger story.

Order 1/25
EDD 3/25-3/31

Ideally when should I receive VIN?

I've heard vehicles are assigned 2 weeks before delivery date. So technically soon based on the date. But there are so many variations, and the most likely scenario is your order will be pushed to prioritize higher margin orders.
