Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Did model Y in 2022, 2021 and earlier had this radar?

Can you please share the link to your claim? Thanks.
Radar was pulled around May 2021. USS pulled in October 2022.

I don't plan on spending $15k on FSD or $6k on EAP so Radar or USS or HW4 don't matter as much. AP (Adaptive cruise control and autosteer) work just fine with my MYLR 2023.

Google is your friend. Its all over the EV news.

Sadly this model is basically dead on arrival. I would wait unless you are itching to get one and cant wait
Won't be the new Y model with HW4 more expensive than current cost?

So the trade off is lower current cost with tax rebate vs. latest HW4 in the FSD and higher cost and higher loan interest rate. If someone badly wants the FSD feature with HW4 and doesn't mind paying more then it may make sense.

Just picked up my MYP.

Did a quick inspection before a 25 mile highway drive home, and another quick inspection once home.

Going to give it a full detailed inspection with one of the inspection apps later today. But panel gaps look good, no road noise on the highway, paint looks great, no rim rash. Everything seems to work. So far seems like I got a good one.

I am not the person who claimed that the car is dead on arrival but here are some links:
https://www.caranddriver.com/news...re-vision/

Reference to radar being introduced again stems from this move from Tesla in January 2023 https://electrek.co/2022/12/06/te...-concerns/

That radar unit likely tied to HW4 which won't be available to Model Y until late 2023 or early 2024. New model Y and X started receiving HW4 in early March and it will be the main focus on Cybertruck as Tesla is ramping up production by year end 2023.

I used this, but there are tons out there, and also YouTube inspection videos.

https://teslaprep.glideapp.io

I just went through the detailed inspection. I got a perfect MYP. Everything perfect in the checklist. Paint and Panel Gap are outstanding. Ride is really smooth and quiet, even with the 21" Uberturbine Wheels. I was worried about that, because people were saying to get the MYLR because the MYP was going to have road noise. But I was going 85 MPH on the highway for about 25 miles, then city driving for about 10 miles. Nice and quite. Even quieter than my last car that was a Lexus.

Not sure if I got lucky and found a Tesla Unicorn, but I hope everyone else here gets a perfect one like I did. Really happy with this purchase so far.

Which bank or CU did your preapproval expire from?

Quote from tommyvelocity :
If eligible (by region), you typically get both. Also MN and IL have been receiving it. I would think the north east should get them as well.

Some have said that they were already installed. My friends and I had to request through the a service request in the app.
I wasn't keeping up to which specific regions had the mud flaps/side door PPF installed. I just remembering reading some people reporting they received it in the northwest region states. Would not be surprised if the northeast region states received it as well but if you confirm that is the case, I will take your word for it. I just didn't see any datapoints that confirmed this.

How long was your preapproval good for? 30 days or 60 days?
