Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

DCU is asking for Purchase Agreement. But I don't see any Purchase Agreement document in my tesla account. I see MV Agreement. Any thoughts, where we can find Tesla Purchase Agreement. Do we get the purchase agreement before delivery? I have the VIN assigned and I have to schedule the delivery next week.
In the Tesla app, you have to complete the Financing tab and select "Self-Arranged Loan" and do a search for "DCU" or the spelled out CU name and enter the amount financed. Once you have completed that task, log into your Tesla account on the website (not app) and you will find the Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement in your Documents section (bottom lower right) that should include your financing details and all the taxes, licensing, registration fees, etc that you will need to upload to DCU to complete your loan. Hope this helps.

Wrong. Again, read what the engineers said. Much safer with radar. Not expecting you to do any research or critical thinking. That would be asking too much of you. Keep polishing that turd tho.
turd is correct. Tesla Ultra Reduced Design. nodnodnod

Yes obviously your VIN has to be assigned because the Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement needs to have all the specific pieces of information in the form one of which is the VIN of your assigned vehicle. But it doesn't prevent you from entering the information ahead of time in the app so that when your VIN is assigned it should show up in your Tesla website account.

Mine's is similar to your's.
But where does the VIN show up on the app? I'm checking it everyday.
it is right below the order number at the upper left corner in the app.

My vehicle is scheduled to delivery on Monday. I am supposed to get the registration documents in 15 days which might be in April. Will it impact the tax credits assuming current IRS deadline 03/31. I am not sure, IRS refers vehicle registration(TX) date or vehicle delivery date for EV tax credits ? Please suggest if you know any info..thanks

The purchase date is the date that you took delivery that Tesla registers your car with the DMV and not dependent on when your official registration documents arrive at your house. You will see the DMV registration form in your Tesla account.

I took delivery 2 weeks ago and I have yet to see the permanent registration form and the license plate. That can take at least 1 month.

I was surprised when I picked mine up 2 days ago and it had the permanent metal license plate installed (not paper tag) and registration was in the glove compartment.

That should not happen. Is this a new car or an inventory car? How many miles did the car have?

Did you rejected the car or accepted the delivery?
It's home delivered, and I accepted the car (i didn't want to delay and risk losing the fed tax credit.) I submitted a service request for a list of issues and got it scheduled to fix in 2 week. Honestly, I doubt they'll fix them all.

New car, custom order, about 15 miles, same assigned VIN I've had for weeks.

It might depend on the State you live in.

In the pickup area, with assigned spots and nametags on the dashboard with name and pickup time, there were like 80 cars to be picked up. They all had permanent metal license plates on them. I didn't see any cars in the pickup area with paper tags (or no tags), and there are like 150 pickup slots.

Oh it has been weeks. Very strange. Typically once a VIN is assigned at least in California, its liike gogogo to pick it up within 1 week or else we will release it to the next customer so nobody would get their permanent license plates by delivery day.
