Commenting as always with a link tothis sticky threadI created with an attempt to answer all the recurring All-Clad questions that come up every time this sale appears (include what to buy and what not to buy).

I hope it helps. As always, please suggest any edits you feel are needed. I try to keep it current and make updates as I learn more myself.

This time I'm in the market for a gift so I'll be shopping this sale. Keep an eye out for additional coupons in the coming days for free shipping or 10% off or both. They often appear.

is there a difference between SD5 and D5 other than the color? and I wonder why some "package damage" grade costs sometimes way less than a "second grade"? does not make sense
I think some of the packaging damage pieces are cheaper than the same second grade is because they have a lot more inventory of the packaging damage ones and are trying to move them.

No difference. Polished and brushed finish perform the same, and at retail they are usually the same price. Some people like brushed because they say it stays looking the same as it wears. As for the prices on the seconds sales, some things are discounted more than others and I imagine it's just about what they have in inventory to move.
thanks! and that FAQ you put together is very helpful, thanks for writing that!

I want one non stick and one stainless fry pan in a set. I wish they would sell them like that.

I'd buy the All-Clad 12" skillet and a Tramontina Pro or Oxo nonstick for $25-$30.

Does anyone know if they drop the prices even further on the remaining stock near the end of the sale?

The website says "Sale begins in 2 days..." but the prices already look to be on sale. Is the 3-day sale already happening? Or happening soon?

No they don't. They have these sales every few months.

The Zwilling Aurora are Belgian pans that compare most closely in construction to All-Clad's heavy D5 line, but:
1) I would not buy fry pans this small, especially not 2 of them.
2) The Aurora fry pans are more like french skillets than traditional fry pans. i.e., they are closest in design to All-Clad's french skillet (not currently in this sale), with a more vertical wall shape.

It's fairly regularly under $100 (just search SD), and on this seconds sale it's $85 after coupon. Thumbup

First and foremost. A big thanks for the effort you put in to the aforementioned sticky thread.
I wasn't able to read through the entire thing obviously this morning (and I am aware of much of what was typed when I scanned through myself).

Just wanted to add a couple of links for you that might be helpful that I didn't see at first glance.
****EDIT**** Just now realized the sticky post already contains #1 below under the original name of ''Cooks Illustrated" which is now 'America's Test Kitchen'. My #1 below is the same link as the Cooks Illustrated referenced early in the sticky. Apologies for that.

Will leave this reply here for a teaser to the OUTSTANDING sticky post reference but want to call out that below is largely covered, in much more detail in the sticky thread.
****EDIT****

1. America's Test Kitchen does a great job describing why All Clad is the winner year after year for fry pans:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzNOy10nz6s

It's very well bookmarked for easy consumption of topics and, at the 1:00 mark they explain cladding etc. They also talk in that video why they don't think the D5 (5 layers) is really worth the extra money.

2. America's Test Kitchen also did one on Saucepans and guess who won that too:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0EHnICJlt4 5:28 mark

3. There's also a good video for your non-stick section:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8p5yh25D73A

Thank you, all the best and I'm looking forward to grabbing some more All Clad stuff soon!

Thanks! I added the saucepan review link. Regarding nonstick FWIW I recently bought the Oxo nonstick to replace my Tramontina that had been their old #1 (the Tramontina was still working but the PFTE coating was showing wear and you just aren't supposed to keep using them for years like that). The Oxo's nonstick performance is fantastic but as the 12" pan gets hot, liquids drift to the edges, which suggests that it is "bowing" under heat. I may return it and get another Tramontina.
