I'm going to try and buy a gift card from patagonia to see if it triggers the AMEX offer. Can anyone confirm if that works?

Damn the AMEX offer for Patagonia expires on the 01/15…
One thing I love about Amex offers is that they don't exclude gift cards most of the time. If they do, then it's for bulk purchases only. So go ahead and buy the gift card, It does trigger the offer (did for me).

Could be, seems like retailers hardly marked down their inventory for Black Friday, could be some sales to be had soon.

My Patagonia down jacket lasted about three cold seasons. Fluff now is basically gone in the lower arm area. I know they have a good warranty but anybody else find Patagonia quality going down hill fast?
Have you washed it?

you gotta use the Ironclad Guarantee Lifetime Warranty or send it into repair Or the following ultra pro tip.

For the warranty, get some partial value in a Patagonia gift card form. OR Ultra pro tip: keep the receipt, there is unlimited returns timeframe at patagonia stores if ya know (last place I know with unlimited return window like how REI used to), & get full refund.

3 seasons is a long time. I have also noticed, quality is beginning to drop. My new jacket has lose threads even though I am very careful while washing in delicate setting and drying it flat.
How on earth is 3 seasons a long time? I have jackets I've used for 10+ years.

Throw a few tennis balls in with it and dry on air dry. It'll redistribute. This is why I really don't like down. I'd rather have poly batting as it stays in place.

Or drier balls if you're all fancy like my wife.

The North Face coat I bought in the 90s lasted 20 years. 3 seasons isn't great.

That was the 90s. This is now . Quality of goods have all decreased across all categories. Cheaper materials. Cheap labor. Fat margins. Late stage Capitalism 101

My packagonia store always carries the ugly colors and then if you're a small or extra extra large then they will have everything in stock for you. And then when you go online order everything is out of stock within 30 minutes.
Every year they have this same sale in January and every year they only post up XS and S stuff only, its a total waste of time

Warranty's been great any time I've had to use it. I've got a winter jacket that's 6 or 7 years old at this point, still looks great. It sounds like the down lost its loft, it's not an issue. What I usually do is once I know I won't be wearing it till next winter, I wash the jacket with this stuff made by Granger's, Just search for down detergent and follow the instructions on the box. It'll bring it back to life.

I've had mine for 11 years. The shoulders wore through and they patched it for free. I would be pretty sad to hear they are declining in quality of that is true.

Huh? 40% seems to be a fairly common sale. Patagonia had 40% (on select items) all through last September and October, and 50% off on some in November.

I don't get the recession talk. I wish there is sale everywhere so I can buy stuffs on the cheap, but stuffs are not cheap these days.
