Looking at this, I think buying the x95j 75" on Walmart in Q4 2022 for $1298 was better.
I am happy I bought it, really happy with the TV. No regrets not buying OLED

Is the Google interface still painfully slow on these? I have a model that's about 2 years old.
What model do you have?

Sony XBR75X900F purchased it in Oct 2018 so actually 4 years old, not 2.

The X95J is on clearance now at this same price, albeit in a limited geographical area. Most would have to get Best Buy or another retailer to price match. YMMV as stock dwindles.

Side by side reviews of both.

Looks like this model has problems with blooming.

That's good to hear. I also bought that TV from the $1298 deal, but returned it for the LG OLED B2 77 inch for $1699 deal. Very happy with it as well. Made that decision due to more gaming features.

But yeah, that X95J is a much better TV at a better price than the X90k.

Bought both x90ck and x95j and literally compared by side. I didn't like the anti glare on X95j, the rainbow effect was too visible and distracting. X90ck did better in that regard even though rtings claims otherwise. The x95j was touted as having better speakers but the sound was actually better on x90ck. I ended up returning the x95j. I don't really care what rtings say on these TVs or for another tvs that matter. If you really look into the details, you'll see they contradict or overly exaggerate their explanations. OLED would have been great but price is just too much still for me for a 75" version. Cheaper OLED could get.closer to the price perhaps but then you lose the brightness.

I have the x900h and never liked it. This is rated lower than the H. The model before the H was the best midrange tv before all the gaming features were introduced in the H series I think Sony had to cut costs somewhere for their mid range TVs at the expense of picture quality for gaming features.

I had the vizio p series quantum for a few weeks and the picture quality was significantly better than the H, J, and K Sony TVs. However vizio TVs go to trash after a few years typically
The x900h does not have an XR processor and was a buggy mess.

Was actually rated higher until they just changed their methodology for some odd reason. Some things they weigh heavily may not be as important to you so you should look at the actual review. For instance reflections are poor and viewing angles are meh but if you are sitting in front in a light controlled space then this may be an acceptable trade-off for a VA panel with no contrast limiting coatings. I have a VA FALD set similar to this that I sit right in front of in a dark room and it looks great for movies and shows. If the seating arrangement was wider and the room brighter then I probably would have gotten something different for that space.

As for comparators some would prefer a name brand like a Sony to Hisense or TCL. No argument that something like a U8H outperforms it in most ways, but for mid-priced TV this is still decent.

Would be even better if Costco brought back the $100 shop card. For 900 and the Costco extended warranty and CS this would be a very good value. Without it for 1000 minus 5% it is just ok.

If looking for a better value then the TCL R646 series for 700 or the crazy 600 price is great. It also has Google OS for those who prefer it over Roku like the current model R655.
Methodology 1.9 takes a deeper dive into blacks, local dimming. It seems that a manufacturers tv was triggered to recognize their test patterns cheat a bit.

Just make sure if you're comparing two screens, they have the same methodology. Otherwise for example take hdr brightness and match up the test windows side by side and decide off those numbers.

Soooo many better TVs at this price point. I'd go even with a TCL 6 series or Hisense U8H over this. Sony seems to now only make high quality tvs in the OLED line only

This is not a good deal at all when you can regularly get an LG B2 65 OLED from $1000-1100
Your 100 percent right. People love Sony though. Why is beyond me. Putting g out junk LEDs now for 2 to 3 years

Why is a 7.8 rtings rated TV considered a good deal at this price? There's many more options rated higher at this price.
Yup. Hisense U8H and TCL 6 Series blow this away.

Blooming is the big issue on this. My point is Sony in the LED space is going downhill and fast. They seem to be putting all the focus on there OLED lineup. I'd take a TCL or Hisense over Sony now any day of the week.
