Yep I saw it. Thanks for confirming it's not the same monitor. You can go back to sleep now and think about what you've said.

This is absolutely not a total lie. Going from 60hz to 120hz was a GIGANTIC difference. You'll feel like your mouse is stuck in syrup going back to 60hz when you even do office work, gaming has nothing to do with it. Think about your screen is now refreshing twice of what it was. The look and feel is extremely noticeable. I haven't gamed or used a monitor at 60hz for over 10 years.

Have the 27" version of this I got through Samsung for under $200 through edu/epp discount. Use it daily for work as well as competitive gaming. Supports 1440/120hz or 4K/60hz on Xbox series X. Minor tweaks to settings has this looking great. Highly recommend for anyone assuming the 32" delivers the same performance

I got a $250 32" Samsung UR59C Curved 4K VA panel and had to return it. I purchased it to replace an 27" Dell IPS panel that was occasionally flicker 1-3 times a day. Not a big deal but gets annoying after a while. I also have a LG 32" Ultrawide IPS.

While VA panels have great reponse times and refresh rates at an economical price. Their color quality is not as good as IPS. They're not as vibrant and felt as if they had a washed out undertone/haze side-by-side to an IPS. This stood out noticeably when I have a moderately lit room vs sitting in the dim/dark setting. Kinda like how you compare a brand new piece of clothing to one you've worn for a couple months. One is noticibly duller.

If I had wanted a comparable IPS panel with good refresh rates, it definitely would run into the $300-500+ range

I have two of these Asus PA248Q monitors since 2013 and they've been great.

Would this be a big upgrade or not really? I'm likely going to keep the Asus monitors for a work setup and have just this one monitor dedicated to my personal PC (I do light gaming)

I don't think it's a total lie. After spoiling myself, I don't think I would be happy/consistent under 165 hz for competitive stuff. On AAA having a g or freesync really makes the whole experience smoother even if you're only pushing 90fps. 60 vs 120 is a bigger difference than 144 vs 165 I agree, but I don't think I can go back to 60.
