Major flaw is it can't actually mop and vac like S7. With the mop mode on, it can't skip over tile to carpet floor transitions
Weird mine lets me setup no mop zones in the map.
Main problem I have is the damned map resets itself every couple of months . If it wasn't for that it's basically perfect but that means I am constantly not using it because it has no map built.
Got this at Christmas for 300. It's pretty nice for the price but the mop function is more of a wet the floor slightly function.
What annoys me the most is that it can only save 2 Maps (Multi Map Mode) and you pretty much have to move the charger for it to recognize the maps.
The filters for the dust bin have to be purchased every 6 months, but it's pretty easy to empty the dust collector inside the vacuum so you don't have to use the larger dust bin, therefore not needing many filter changes. The LIDAR on the vacuum is really great for the price. I also love being able to set virtual boundaries. I wish they had a software update for Multimap so you don't have to move the base and that more maps were allowed to be saved and that you could select the map it is in- right now it's detects the map itself- you can't select it.

If you aren't doing it already, try scheduling your cleaning using under "Area Cleaning" rather than "AUTO Cleaning". I was losing maps when I got my 1st one about a year ago and someone suggested that as a fix and it has worked so far. I lost the map recently due to a dirty lidar where the vacuum could not identify where it was. After dusting the lidar area, I deleted the new map it created (Reset Current Map) and then placed it somewhere else and had it return to the dock. It recognized the area and restored the previous map.

I think you may be doing it wrong — you only have to move the base the first time you create a map, then it should automatically select the best map based on where you place the N8. Make sure you go into maps and "save" your floor plan before you go create the second map. Then save that one and move your base back to its original spot, and you should be good to go, I let mine run two cycles on each floor and it worked like a charm after that.
But you're right, that they assumed people would only need 2 maps (guessing "upstairs" and "downstairs") is annoying, hope they add more in future updates.
However at this price, this is an excellent option with an auto empty dust bin and mop feature. I've had mine for 2 years and with a small child and dog in the house it has paid for itself many times over. The mop pads (even the "disposable" ones) can be washed and reused in the laundry many times. Got a couple more for my parents and my MIL for Xmas - all work great after initial mapping.
Pro tip: buy the mega-pack of refill supplies from Ali Express for about $30

Thanks for the ideas, will give it a try. I think the delete the new map thing I did once and could never figure out how to do it again. Because other than that problem this thing is fantastic.
We never use scheduled cleaning though. I do wonder if some of it is because we have a small ecommerce business in half the house so boxes and stuff change the "area" frequently in a way it's not able to handle.
Seems like a really good deal. I have a dumb iRobot Roomba 780 that just bounces around. It's even too dumb to return home and charge now. This looks similar in design to Roborock, which I have the S4 Max of. Love that one with its lidar based mapping.
