So they're seizing firearms from people that illegally acquired the firearms, lost their privilege to own said firearms, or owners chose to turn the firearms in for destruction for various reasons (such as old/broken and untrustworthy)... and then Benchmade is helping in destroying them so they don't need to waste money storing them? What's the problem here? You honestly want to purchase a used firearm that could have been used for wrong doing? Maybe it gets connected to a case later down the road and you have to deal with the drama regarding you now owning that same piece of evidence. What if the previous owner treated the firearm like crap? Do you really want to trust that piece of machinery that relies on controlled mini explosions in your hand? Point is you have no idea what happened with those guns. Why would you care if they're destroyed? It's not like the police were just randomly entering citizen's houses and taking their property. There's reasons the guns are slated to be destroyed.
Benchmade is a solid company that makes excellent products. Your reasoning is insanely flawed and you're just parroting other people who follow the same flawed reasoning. You're missing out on excellent products such as those in this thread.

Just a reminder for those that this matters to, Benchmade destroy seized firearms for the police.
Now for everyone that is gonna piss and moan just like every other time. Just gonna to let you know, I'm not telling you not to buy Benchmade products. I'm simply letting people that might not know, that might save them from spending their hard earned money with a company that they don't agree with.
Also
-I know that in that state, the police can't auction the firearms.
-To me that doesn't matter, they could've politely declined and let some other machine shop do it.
- personally I don't feel like you can claim to support the second amendment, then help those that it was made to help protect against destroy firearms.
Again if you want to buy it, buy it. This comment was not for you. Though I'm sure I'll hear from you.

Wouldn't you pro-2A guys be in favor of a company that's destroying old guns so people have to buy new? Seems like simple supply and demand to me
440 stainless steel seems a bit low grade steel for these prices.
The 275FE blade is CruWear, hardly low grade steel- actually, it's arguably some of the best knife steel on the commercial market. Even still, big difference between 440A/B/C

You might want to look into your own reasoning. You have some reasonable statements mixed with some that are unreasonable. I have no problem with seized illegal weapons being destroyed, that's fine. It also makes perfect sense for people to turn in their guns to be destroyed if they are old or otherwise untrustworthy, you don't want an avoidable accident to happen. You are also wise to be cautious about being caught up with physical case evidence that could cause you grief down the road- that's a smart thing to consider. The rest, though, doesn't make as much sense and dilutes the good things you are pointing out. Anything you buy used could have been used for "wrong doing" or could have been poorly taken care of. That shirt from the thrift store could have been used to strangle someone, how would you know? Unless you believe in items somehow becoming tainted or haunted, why would it matter? It's a thing, a tool to be used. You have to be smart when you buy used items, that's all, you don't have to be scared of it.
Do you think they just found more in the back room ??
This is all to get down inventory then cut you out of the deal!!

By your logic though, if someone believes in the second amendment the same way you do we should never destroy guns which seems pretty silly. Unless, the real reason this bothers you is because you feel it's some government conspiracy to take guns away from citizens. Which is of course, also silly.

That does not follow at all from what I said. I'm not even conservative and I don't own a single gun.

The spear-point blade can be considered 'dagger'.
