For newer Samsung phones with 4GB+64GB or less including A13, A14, A23, etc., if it lags and freezes during normal usage, update to Android 13 (One UI 5) and go to Settings - Device care - Memory - RAM Plus and turn it off completely.

My Galaxy A23 becomes much more responsive after T-Mobile pushed Android 13 and allowed me to do the above.

Wireless charging is not a midrange phone feature, let alone a budget line like this. Pixel 6A doesn't have it either.

Slow wireless charging time not being a complaint is probably because people come home, throw it on the charger, and charge it throughout the evening and night to use for the next day. They don't care how long it takes.

My smartphone gets very warm with the fast wired charging as is.
Heat is absolutely not good for the batteries.
If a 1-Wh battery is charged at a constant rate so that a full charge takes 1 hour, that's a rate of 1 Wh/h or simply 1 W. If it is charged at 70% of that rate, that's a rate of 0.7 Wh/h or 0.7 W. The time required to fully charge the battery at 0.7 W is 1 Wh / 0.7 W = 1.43 h, not 1.3 h.

I'm not sure how I'm giving credence to why people aren't interested in wireless charging. It saves me from having to connect and disconnect a cable twice a day. That's 730 times a year that I can simply lay/retrieve my phone on/from its charging pad instead of going through the tedious process of fiddling with a cable. That's a convenience that seems like a bargain for what it costs.

Wh is a measure of capacity.
It has nothing to do with charging time.
A battery that is 1 Wh means that if you have a device that uses 1W, the battery will run it for 1 hour.
1Wh tells you nothing about charging time.

It is possible to charge that same 1 Wh battery faster.

iPhone 14 Pro Max battery capacity is 16.75Wh and takes 2h18m to fully charge to 100% using MagSafe (https://www.creativebloq.com/news...x-charging )

If we say that wireless charging is 70% less efficient, then during that same 2.3 hours using wireless charging, you'd only get to 11.725Wh on that battery

16.75Wh <---> 2h18m = 2.3 hours [wired charging]
11.725Wh <---> 2h18m = 2.3 hours [wireless charging]

You'd need another 2.3 hours x 0.3 = 0.69 hours = 41.4 minutes to get to 100% on that battery using wireless charging.

Is the sim card that it came with required to activate the phone? Can I give it to someone else and they use their metro pcs sim card?

Yes, the Wh is a unit of energy and therefore a measure of capacity. A 1-Wh battery will take 1 hour to charge at a charging rate of 1 W. A 2-Wh battery will take 2 hours to charge at the same 1-W charging rate. So, charging time does depend on battery capacity. Of course, it is possible to charge at a different rate; I chose 1 W simply to make the arithmetic easy. Choose any rate you wish, but mathematically, it will still take 43% longer to fully charge the battery at a 30% charging rate reduction. It's not hard, just middle school arithmetic.

3.3 hours is 1 hour longer than 2.3 hours, is it not? So, charging wirelessly, it would take a full hour longer to charge. That's 43% longer, not 30% longer. 3.3 / 2.3 = 1.43.

To go from 100% of something to 70%, you multiply by 0.7. To get back to 100%, you do the opposite and divide by 0.7. Dividing by 0.7 is the same as multiplying by the reciprocal of 0.7, which is 1.43. You don't get back to 100% by adding 30% of 70% back to 70%. You get back to 100% by adding 43% of 70% back to 70%

The same concept applies to investing. If you buy a share of stock for $100 and the price falls 50% to $50, you don't get back to $100 if the stock rises 50%. It would have rise 100%. If it falls 80% to $20, it would have to rise 400% to recover your original investment.

Perhaps there is a middle school math teacher here who can explain it better, because I obviously stink at trying to explain this. Maybe I'm wrong about it being middle school math [youtube.com]. I'm old, it's been a while.
