Here's the best AA offer at present - 80K points on the Barclay business CC with $2,000 spend and no fee for the first year. No hassle to getting a business card as using it for your eBay or Amazon sales qualifies you. I got two cards for myself and my wife with no questions asked. An extra bonus is that i believe business cards do not count against the Chase 5/24 limit.

Are AA miles completely worthless now?
The taxes they charge for Europe are same or higher than actual lowest cost ticket, plus they have a layover to destinations where there are lots of direct flights by AA like Barcelona Madrid, London, Paris. Year ago they said avoid London but now any destination has massive BS taxes and fees like $550 taxes for Barcelona flights that you can find for same price without spending miles (and direct). Also used to be a le to get flight to Brazil or Europe for 40k to 60k. Not anymore.
We have 140,000 miles for past 10 years and we cannot use them. Any recommendations is appreciated!

Avoid flights "Operated by British Airways". Those are the ones with the high taxes/fees.

I use them primarily to fly business on AA or JAL to Japan.
And there are also non-stop flights like ATL-LAX. It comes in handy to have these miles.
And no absurd tax or fuel charge like with British.

Edit: their business cards don't work with Apple Pay. Such a joke…

Seems they discriminate against high SS# vs age (I believe that's how you know it's an immigrant)
