Well worth the extra $14 as this printer just works. I just checked and it was 2018 when I bought it for $69, I don't print that often, but im still on the starter toner it came with and still prints perfectly. Crazy how long I went and how many inkjet printers I went through before realizing how great lasers were.

Just bought this when it was $74 last week I think.
Works great, print out wirelessly through my laptop and phone without any issues or need to set up PDF like someone mentioned.
But can someone check and see if their print out is way too light? I already changed settings to all the way dark but the printout still remains the same
You need to use different drivers or reinstall your Canon driver package.

With the Capital One Chrome extension, and a Capital One card, this printer is <$78 from Dell. 30% back from Capital One from the $99 price on Dell.

Bought this exact model 8 years ago for $50 as a first year PhD student, still working well (with Linux). Double page printing is possible with Linux if you try hard enough 😉
Can you elaborate???

So many recommendations yet can't even do duplex printing. Comical.

EDIT: Someone posted a DP version that costs 15 bux more. Dunno why anyone wouldn't go with that one.

Like many others have stated, we bought this printer for a little less $ and it has been working for years. Still on the original toner and I've printed a ton of documents over the years. We even bought another toner after 5 years because it feels like it's supposed to run out by now. At this rate, I'm confident we could have children and gift this canon to them once they move out. I can't justify buying a new printer.

I've been using this printer for years (I think it was a SD back then).

The only problem I've had with it is to get into the admin settings, it needs a PIN code and everything I've tried from help on the web (including using the last 4/5 digits of the serial number) haven't worked. So, I am not able to change some of the settings.

Don't buy no airprint if you lways print on phone, you need to change everything to pdf and edit to fit then s3nd to Canon app this is a pain in the butt.
Agreed. Airprint was one of the original selling points for me but it is a pain in the but to use. I just hardwire my laptop to it and print. Much easier and less hoops to jump through.

THIS.
I had a small business that required printing out many invoices. For a long time, I was using ink and buying primarily black cartridges often, which were expensive. My buddy suggested getting a dedicated laser printer and that it would pay for itself quickly.

My inkjet printer collected dust. I was amazed at how much I rarely needed to use color. I think I've maybe replaced the laser printer cartridge maybe 4 times in the last 5-6 years.

Such a good investment.
