So from what I found out from their live stream is it is a "V4" in a way but with simple connections/housing so it's not a true V4 but it's also not a V3. It doesn't come with magnetic base and the base is more limited in range of motion. So from an internal hardware base it's better than V3 but packaging is less than a V3. I guess In a way like an iPhone SE or maybe even an iPad mini??? where its newer hardware but in older housing.
Two cameras = two SD cards
But once the stacking kit comes it's one power cable.
They wanted to go back to being a "low priced camera company". they mentioned there are going to be a lot of different cameras coming out in the future like wide angle, super wide angle, 5x, 7x zoom cameras and other options to add onto this "OG" ecosystem.
The V3 is compatible with other items like spot light, garage door, and other items where as the OG ecosystem won't be.
It will be two series: a higher end series and a lower end series and each will be compatible with their own system. So instead of buying multiple high end cameras for simple areas you can buy cheaper cameras that do one specific job for that one location. like instead of buying two OG cameras and stack them for a wider view, you would just put a V3 pan in that location. and instead of putting a V3 or V3 pan to see down the side of the house you would just put in an OG or OG telephoto to see the entrance gate down the side of the house.
I guess that would be the best way to put it. Each OG camera will do one specific job with a processor and sensor that is better than the V3 so it's not a V3 replacement. Hope this helps

I don't know why they did this instead of giving us optical zoom for around $40-$50. This is 2 cameras, so you have to have 2 SD cards? I really expected something cooler like their new pan cam, this looks like they took old V2 cam and made slight changes and added built in light.
Also with 2 cams, you need to run 2 lines or do they at least daisychain like V2 cams? If not, that's another disappointment.

Without subscription, there is a cool down time of 5 minutes for notifications and no cloud recording at all.
Only difference is the v3 pro's AI is faster due to on-device processing, which is USELESS if you don't subscribe.

The difference is you don't need to subscribe for the AI to detect people. The regular V3 you have to pay for camplus to get any image recognition. You don't need a subscription or cool down If you have a $15 micro SD card, it'll record 24/7 . My 64gb SD card gets me 5-6 days of continuous recording.
Not sure why you're thinking this is "useless", I have several and they work perfectly with SD cards and AI detection. No subscription, no reoccurring cost.
If you don't actually have the product, you should read up more about it before making false statements.

You need to do exactly what you told others: if you don't have the products, you need to read, instead of giving false information..
I have the product, you obviously don't.
Not much more to say....
If you hate the product, buy a different brand. Not sure why you're complaining here.

The cooldown without subscribing is what makes it useless… 5min between notifications is horrible. It's great they moved person detection to the camera, although I'm sure next gen they'll put it behind a feature paywall cause that's their MO, but the cooldown still kills it.
Obviously they'll never give that up, they need those recurring costs.

My experience with these wyze cameras is , I put an microSD card in them, and set it so it records continuously. If I see a change in timeline,I just go to time that that change took place, and see the whole thing. No subscription for me.

Exactly my point. If there is 5 minutes coool down for notifications, the AI processing is almost pointless if you have to load the app and view the playback saved on micro sdcard manually only to know if there is something happening.
Then the question is why paying premium for the pro over the regular V3 beside the 2k resolution if you don't subscribe? The V3 also has AI processing (maybe a little bit slower), and bonus of 12 seconds cloud recording with the free cam plus lite. The pro doesn't have cloud recording if you don't subscribe.
The whole point of V3 pro is that it has on-device AI processing so that you will be notified faster if something happened.

Edit - Poster below found these new cameras are not eligible for the Cam Plus Lite sub.

you're welcome.
The wyze stacking kit will also come with a power coupler (or Daisy chain?) That allows two cameras to connect to one power source.

Wyze Cam OG is not compatible with the accessories, it can be powered from the Wyze Cam Floodlight but not control it.

Isn't it still limited by subscription, though?
Is there a chart of comparison now that they got ton of different cameras?
I still have 2 V3 cams that I got from HD deal.
