No RTSP support on these cameras

So from what I found out from their live stream is it is a "V4" in a way but with simple connections/housing so it's not a true V4 but it's also not a V3. It doesn't come with magnetic base and the base is more limited in range of motion. So from an internal hardware base it's better than V3 but packaging is less than a V3. I guess In a way like an iPhone SE or maybe even an iPad mini??? where its newer hardware but in older housing.
Two cameras = two SD cards
But once the stacking kit comes it's one power cable.
They wanted to go back to being a "low priced camera company". they mentioned there are going to be a lot of different cameras coming out in the future like wide angle, super wide angle, 5x, 7x zoom cameras and other options to add onto this "OG" ecosystem.
The V3 is compatible with other items like spot light, garage door, and other items where as the OG ecosystem won't be.
It will be two series: a higher end series and a lower end series and each will be compatible with their own system. So instead of buying multiple high end cameras for simple areas you can buy cheaper cameras that do one specific job for that one location. like instead of buying two OG cameras and stack them for a wider view, you would just put a V3 pan in that location. and instead of putting a V3 or V3 pan to see down the side of the house you would just put in an OG or OG telephoto to see the entrance gate down the side of the house.
I guess that would be the best way to put it. Each OG camera will do one specific job with a processor and sensor that is better than the V3 so it's not a V3 replacement. Hope this helps
Put the camera on continous record, it will notify you of events BUT you can't see the event.
What you do is look at the time of the event, then look at the playback for the camera at that time. It's a bit awkward, but it works.
So I can still use the app to view recorded footage from the SD? As long I don't have to remove the SD physically and view it on my PC.

I believe the answer to your question is "no". You would not see a video clip on the app without a paid subscription, which is what many on this forum are unhappy with. Instead, you would only see a static image taken at the time of the event.
The video clip would still reside on the card but you would need to pull it from the camera and view it on a computer. And obviously you won't be doing that from a remote location.
For those of us with existing cameras and on the lite plan, the new cameras offer little benefit unless you opt for the paid subscription. In fact, it may prompt some to abandon Wyze and switch to a different brand rather than being forced to pay for what was advertised as free when they became Wyze customers. Some of us feel the neverending pressure is a slap in the face to those who helped contribute to Wyze's success.

Yup!
This new OG just came out a few days ago. And wyze changed stuff, if you are long time user of Wyze cam's in past, research what changed.

You are correct here. V3 Pro doesn't support Lite plan either. Based on their FAQ, pretty much all new cameras released since April 2022 can not use Lite.
"Does the Wyze Cam v3 Pro support Cam Plus Lite?
No, as of right now, Cam Plus Lite only supports cameras released during or before April 2022, such as Wyze Cam Outdoor v2."
With built-in person detection, it would be great if you can view preview feeds easily from the local SD storage just like what you see with the cloud recording on the Events tab. But I find it to be a pain in the butt to view playback from the local SD storage.

You can view recordings from the SD card in the app and not have to pull it from the camera and view it on a computer like you said. But it's not easy or convenient like the 12 second cloud clips that show up in the Events tab. My involvement with WyzeCams will end with the v3 for that reason.
I still have 2 v2 cams. "Upgraded" to slightly better 2k eufy. I'll never go back to 1080/11-15fps. I'm ready for 4k 30fps color night optical zoom. Not in a hurry but maybe in 50-10 years when i'll be able to find an apartment.

I'd like to learn more from you on how to view the recordings from the SD card using the app without the paid subscription. I have quite a few Cam Pans and some V2/V3 cams. I'm also a grandfathered Cam Plus Lite (aka free) user. In fact I just added a new Cam Pan recently and was shocked to see that my notifications on it were just images. Suspecting that Wyze pulled some shenanigans, I quickly learned that I was the real source of the problem. I had failed to set that new cam up under my Cam Lite list of cameras. One quick settings change and all was good.
Other than using the timeline bar to go back to an earlier time and play the video clip from that point, how do you play back from the SD in the app only?

How did you set up your cams on cam plus lite?
Wyzard told me to delete cams from my account and re-add them.

Any other way?
I'm assuming that you are already set up as a Cam Plus Lite subscriber. If so, then:
Open the Wyze app.
Go into your account.
Click on Services.
Near the top of the screen you will be three headings.
Disregard the first two.
Click on the Cam Plus Lite heading.
You should see your cameras here.
If not, you need to add it (or them).
To clarify, this is in your overall account. Don't try to open that specific camera at the Home Screen and try to make the change there.
I suppose in theory you could have individual cameras under each of the three plans listed in Services. But I'm just a cheapskate and have all mine in the free category.

Edit - Poster below found these new cameras are not eligible for the Cam Plus Lite sub.
