No RTSP support on these cameras

So from what I found out from their live stream is it is a "V4" in a way but with simple connections/housing so it's not a true V4 but it's also not a V3. It doesn't come with magnetic base and the base is more limited in range of motion. So from an internal hardware base it's better than V3 but packaging is less than a V3. I guess In a way like an iPhone SE or maybe even an iPad mini??? where its newer hardware but in older housing.
Two cameras = two SD cards
But once the stacking kit comes it's one power cable.
They wanted to go back to being a "low priced camera company". they mentioned there are going to be a lot of different cameras coming out in the future like wide angle, super wide angle, 5x, 7x zoom cameras and other options to add onto this "OG" ecosystem.
The V3 is compatible with other items like spot light, garage door, and other items where as the OG ecosystem won't be.
It will be two series: a higher end series and a lower end series and each will be compatible with their own system. So instead of buying multiple high end cameras for simple areas you can buy cheaper cameras that do one specific job for that one location. like instead of buying two OG cameras and stack them for a wider view, you would just put a V3 pan in that location. and instead of putting a V3 or V3 pan to see down the side of the house you would just put in an OG or OG telephoto to see the entrance gate down the side of the house.
I guess that would be the best way to put it. Each OG camera will do one specific job with a processor and sensor that is better than the V3 so it's not a V3 replacement. Hope this helps
Bought (2) 2 packs and they arrived today. I ordered through wyze app but they were shipped from Amazon
congrats!
Please test them out for us and give a little background on your past Wyze cams or if this is your first time experience.
Are you going to join Cam PRO subscription, or not.
Where are you planning to put them, did you put microSD card in them.
This cam just came out a few days ago, and I have watched a number of youtube reviews. So test it out for us if you don't mine, pro's and cons, etc.
i have owned the v2 and v3 and have Cam LITE, and the reason I have waited because reviewers say you CAN NOT add these OG models to CAM LITE, ... so features are not available that were available with v2 and v3.
I picked up 8 v3's for about 17 dollars a piece (2 pack 35 dollars on HOME DEPOT), and I do like starlight feature, and cam LITE on them.
So, what is your experience, you can post after you test stuff out, and add deeper dive into your experience after using it for a few days..
Without subscription, there is a cool down time of 5 minutes for notifications and no cloud recording at all.
Only difference is the v3 pro's AI is faster due to on-device processing, which is USELESS if you don't subscribe.
5 minutes for notification?? Do you mean you have to wait 5 minutes after detection for mobile app notification ???
5 minutes for notification?? Do you mean you have to wait 5 minutes after detection for mobile app notification ???
It means the maximum number of notifications you can receive in every 5 minutes is ONE. If you just received a notification now, you won't receive any notification in the next 5 minutes and you will miss events happening in the 5 minutes.

wow, you're saying this new OG cam is like that, while the V3 is not (cuz I see more than one notification in 5 min is possible)
Thanks, I think daisy chain will be the most important part for these because a lot of people have hard time running wire to outside. Biggest thing is that now this is also weatherproof (to some degree) .
The OG and V3 do not have daisy chain capabilities- unless they are the end of the chain.
The OG telephoto doesn't look available to purchase via Amazon. Just the OG standard is.
It is because Amazon doesn't have the telephoto OG currently stocked at Amazon.com.

I love Wyze cams, and I have many generations of them. However, one of my favorite features is cam plus lite, the service that offers person detection and cloud storage for free. I was excited to learn of the new Wyze cam OG. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to learn that can plus lite was no longer being offered on new models. This is a feature I constantly use and benefit from, and have been spoiled with. I feel the lack of this feature was quite skewed and hidden, making this experience less than satisfactory.

What a disappointment, I'm buying from you since day 1, and this OG cam would be my last purchase. You created an amazing camera for a cheap price to force customers to buy a PLUS plan, shame on you. The 5-minute gap between recordings, and no playback, what a joke. Buyers stay away from this scam! This camera is only good for live viewing at least you buy a subscription.

The function of the camera is very good but the picture quality is dark and not near as good as the V3 Wyze cam. I will be returning and hopefully the picture quality is as good or better than the V3.

I am a long-time, early user of Wyze, have bunches of the cameras, their scale, a few other items, so absolutely a fan. I wanted to replace my two remaining V2 WyzeCams with something that had night vision, and went to order a couple more V3's and saw the listing for the OG. Okaaay, a little cheaper than the V3, and all "New and Better and Faster," right? Seemed like a no-brainer, so I ordered two.
They're going right back to Wyze. First, I spent a good bit of time installing them, sat down to fiddle with all the settings and such and THEN discovered they are not compatible with CamPlus Lite -- so while they WILL record events, they will not let you play them back immediately unless you pay Wyze a monthly subscription fee. There is a roundabout, convoluted way to play the event clips back, but it's extra and unnecessary steps you just do not (and should not) have to take with V3 or even V2!
Secondly, while I'm sitting around waiting for my replacement V3's to arrive, I've had a day or so with these Newer/Better cameras and they're just....not. The picture quality is the very first thing I noticed, and when I bring up these two cameras as part of a group, next to my other camera's live views, the difference is all the more stunning. These seem to have a gray haze over the images -- I actually had to go double check to make SURE I'd removed the plastic, protective cover off the lenses, lol! I had, but the slightly not-quite focused, not bright, hazy picture quality remains for both of them. This is clearly just a subpar offering by Wyze. I was penny-wise, pound foolish, trying to save just a few dollars on a tight budget, but it was absolutely not worth it, and now I have to go through the hassle of returning them to Wyze.
Stick with the V3. The night vision on those is just incredible, they are little workhorse cameras that DO work with the CamPlus Lite. Wyze said they made some "tweaks" to the OG that makes it not compatible with CamPlus Lite, but they definitely need to go back to the drawing board on that, along with taking a better look at the picture quality.

Be careful, I bought a handful of these to hang up around my house, replacing the v2 with these ones. These have no support for Cam Plus Lite, nor RTSP. This is just a way to try and grab more subscription money; that's why they're so cheap.
As far as quality goes, they're great. Image is great, they're faster than the v2, and even the microphone seems better. My only gripe is that you have to update to the newest version of the iOS app to add them, and I've lost a bunch of features. Example, I have SD cards in all of mine, but I cannot just click on the alert and have it bring up the video from the SD card like I used to on the old version of the app, because Cam Plus Lite is missing from these cameras. You now have to click "show menu" after the app opens, and click SD Card, and then manually find the time stamp from the generated alert. Also there is about a full two minute delay in SD Card. Example, if an alert pops off at 1:05 PM, and II click the alert, click show more, click the SD Card, it will only show up to 1:03 PM on the SD Card recordings. I will have to back out of that camera, wait two full minutes and then I can see 1:05 PM and see what the recording was.
This all goes away if you subscribe to Cam Plus, which is annoying. The two minute delay went away completely and I can just click the alert and have it bring up the video when I put them on a trial of Cam Plus, which means they are intentionally sandbagging the cameras to sell subscriptions. It's shady and I'm kinda mad about it.
$2.00 a month for services x 4 = $8........and you get whatever service they provide to help protect your property. some of you mofo's spend that on a days' worth of coffee... if you truly need cameras to protect your property and the people living with you maybe you should spend a lil more
