Likely these are off-lease business laptops. Not TC'ing, just know what you're getting into.
I also don't understand the 'outdated' concept. An 8th gen i7 will do literally any task that 99.9999999% of computer users do today and for the next 5 years. And 32GB of RAM is a ridiculous amount for even a brand-new laptop. What are people doing with their computers that the above isn't enough? My only concern with this refurbished machine would be battery life.
Instead of buying a 2 year old used car for $12k you should instead buy a $36k new car because it's better.

I do want like a personal laptop for teaching that I wouldn't mind dropping or spilling water on, though
Also, maybe just dont spill or drop your cheap or expensive electronics??

What exactly we should look for in case of these refurbs to request a battery replacement within 90 days warranty period?
The $800 laptop better comes with 8 GHz speed since these $400 are close to 4 GHz...lol

I used to have a home NAS or server configured w/a UPS, but this takes the headache out of replacing UPS batteries and configuring the shutdown process if/when I lose power.
Tell me how it will run the latest games. It just has a lot of RAM which is cheap in itself and only good for handling a lot of VMs.
the average consumer isn't playing GPU intensive video games. Get a ridiculously expensive gaming rig if you need one. It doesn't make this a bad PC
