Arduino is having a winter sale, and among them is the TS80P soldering iron set for $50. I previously got just the iron itself for $76 after some intense deal hunting, so this is a bit of a bummer for me. Hoping that others who may already be looking at this can take advantage of this deal.

Shipping's not free, but is decently low.

Ended up ordering, was debating on getting some cheap one from aliexpress or a decent one for a good price. thanks bro

TS100 is also on sale, heres some random guys comparison https://oscarliang.com/ts80-solde...ron-ts100/

Sounds like the TS80 is built better and what i went with (metal vs TS100 plastic)

Serious question, if you're not an electrician/engineer then you don't need a soldering iron right?

What practical applications would something like this have?

Tinkering with raspberry pi or arduino kinds of things, repairing devices with through-hole components, car repairs or mods.

Thank you for the answer. I was trying to see if it was something I'd fine useful but it doesn't look like I need one personally. Thank you again

Pinecil also in stock and on sale ($26). I just ordered one. Both I'm sure are great, just letting others know of alternatives.

Basic fixes around the house. Maybe if a low voltage cable gets frayed or damaged, you can splice the wires together. Just simple and easy repairs that you would otherwise have to buy a new part or replace the unit. It's just a useful tool to have around along with a multimeter.

Maybe I'll pick up one of these. I have the original TS80 with a chisel tip but the screen went dim over time.

Cheapest shipping is $4.17 for me (USPS First Class)

What's the difference between the $50 kit and this one that's $91?

Was perplexed myself... I think the more expensive one is the iron only, which doesn't quite track, but happens. The $50 kit comes with adapter/cable/static discharger/allen key.

Looks like "more" actually comes with a power brick, grounding strap, and USB-C cable https://www.miniware.com.cn/produ...iron-more/

FWIW electricians and and engineers don't usually solder for their jobs. In engineering jobs, technicians are normally the ones that would do that level of work, and electricians typically work with screw or crimp type terminals for AC wiring where soldering is generally avoided.
Note: this is not ALWAYS the case, there are ALWAYS exceptions to any "rule", but generally speaking.

Came here to post exactly this, and as per the images it is the Pinecil V2 version (88W), higher than both TS80P (30W) and the TS100 (65W).

Edit: Shipping is ~$12 to either coast.
