Technically you can, but I find they make it undesirable by making it inconvenient or costly. For instance, one of my wheels broke and when I called they said I could bring it to a samsonite store and they would send it to a repair shop for a fee, and then I could pick it up when it is ready (likely weeks later). You can mail it yourself but then you are paying more for postage. I said, can't you just send me a wheel?? and they said sure but you have to buy it and it was about $20 shipped.

The only way to have it done for free is to drop it off to an authorized repair shop. Which are few and far between — and I'm not sure if they will fix it on the spot for you or make you come back another time to get it.

So they will honor the warranty but in my experience it is designed to be inconvenient or costly such that most people don't bother. I'm looking into TravelPro now as I lug around a Samsonite with three wheels! 😂

It looks like Amazon still has cheaper prices than Samsonite's website e.g. on the Omni hardside: https://www.amazon.com/Samsonite-...B013WFNVGY
It's $129.99 versus $167.99 with the 20% off.

If it's less than 10 years old, you can likely send it in for warranty claim via Samsonite website

I was going to buy this because the handle on my carry-on sticks. But the handling sticking is a great conversation starter on the plane. I actually met my significant other because of this sticky handle. Another impulse buy thwarted - go conscience!

Good ideal!

We have one and it's a little heavy. Weight by itself is 6.6 lb…traveling outside of US, especially budget airlines in Europe or Asia limit carryon to only 22lb (10kg).

What carry on would you recommend?

Bought 5 of this sized Samsonite about 6 or 7 years ago. Barely used. Need a wheel replacement on 1 of them. Part is discontinued. Can't find anywhere. Maybe back to the costly TravelPro.

I sent three back at the same time. Two for wheels, one for handle and zipper. I dropped it at an authorized dealer and then they shipped them all back to me. $20 fee for large bags. $15 fee for carry on. Not "free" but I found it useful because the rest of the bag is still in good condition.

So I saw the same model at Ross's the other day. Seemed like a nice buy but I think it was 5 dollars more or so. I picked it up very robust for a soft shell. Really like it. I just didnt want another suitcase.

I did a warranty repair last month. I brought to a local Samsonite store and was charged only $10 for shipping. They were unable to fix my luggage so they replaced it with a brand new one for me. It's worth giving it a shot because you if they can't repair it then you'll get a new luggage!
