You'll definitely get better CPU performance but will be stuck with Intel Iris Xe 96EU graphics which is significantly slower than the RDNA 2 based Raseon 680M graphics. On top of that, in this one, you can add an external GPU using the USB4 port whereas the other model you've referred, doesn't even have a USB4/Thunderbolt 4 port. Check the detailed specification. So, there is no normal way of adding any thunderbolt accessories or external GPU unless you want to go with some DIY methods of using M.2 to PCIe X16 converter, separate PSU to power the GPU and loosing the capability of using any PCIe SSD.

Note: Although the USB4 port is mentioned to be 20Gbps one, it is actually a full 40 Gbps Port and has been tested with external GPU docks. YouTuber ETA Prime has already tested this model.

Ecosystem that charges exorbitant money for extra memory/storage and does not allow users to upgrade those on their own, okay!

Hmmmm! A deal for this was posted on 1/17 for $585 from Amazon but was yanked by the mods. Not sure hat happened there.

I have a slightly different Beelink Mini PC (The Intel Core i5 12th Gen version), and I've been very impressed with the quality. I hadn't heard of Beelink until researching a new mini pc, but took a flyer on a brand I didn't know, and so far I've been impressed. Perfect home media server.

Get an extended warranty if you are going to buy one. Proprietary parts make it difficult to repair when things go bad
Does beelink offer extended warranty?

Yeah, I'd like to know why that was yanked. I commented on that deal and wanted to get back to the discussion, but the thread was gone.

There's something off here. The Pro version should have the 6800HX cpu.
Doesn't seems to be. Both amazon and beelink site refers to 6800H

It did on Tuesday. It's still in the Google search results [google.com]. At that time the cpu was the only difference I could see between the Pro and the non Pro.

Looks cool but I'll put that money towards mac mini

After telling me my 5 year old i7 quad with 32gb ram is unable to upgrade to windows 11, that put me in a f Windows going forward mood.

Went from Android to IOS after the fiasco with Pixel 6 pro, just moving into an ecosystem that updates hardware longer since I tend to keep my devices longer.
That has to be the worst reason yet I've heard to switch to Mac. Their planned obsolescence is so much quicker than the PC world. Right to repair and upgrade issues aside.

The irony of your comment is this box doesn't even come with Windows...for sale is computer hardware, not a "Windows" box. It's not a "Mac" box either, but your comment is really pretty irrelevant.

Many, many people use OSes *other* than Windows and Mac...just sayin'.

I used to have a simular mindset .. then I realized current computers don't do anything that I couldn't do back in Windows XP, and the OS uses a heck of a lot more resources too.
Windows, Mac, android, ios... all suffer from feature-creap Crap bloat to keep the money flowing in year after year.
They all purposefully make your experience worse on older, perfectly good hardware to trick you into buying new stuff.

Are the SER5 versions at that link for under $400 a good deal and perform well? HTPC?
It really depends on your exact needs, but the 5600H CPU isn't that much behind the 6800H.

https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...vsm1522632

For a HTPC you most likely want a lot more storage... an external HDD or a NAS.

The link takes to ser6 mini and not the pro version. There is pro version with $150 off coupon for $799. Couldn't able to make out the difference between ser6 mini and pro mini
-----
Edit 3: Ordered the $585 one from "Beelink Direct" and it arrived today 01/25/2023. I haven't unboxed it yet but the box says SER6 PRO on it.
-----
Edit 2: The deal is sold by "Beelink Direct". There is a pro with the same imagery (since the imagery says "PRO" sold by "Beelink Store". But there is also a seller called "Beelink" and no clear indication on which is the official Beelink.
-----
It's the same device. If you look at the images (which are uploaded by Beelink as they are the seller on Amazon) it says PRO in the image that states "8-cores high performance gaming PC".
-----
Edit: it is possible that it's a mistake on Beelink's side that they uploaded the wrong imagery for the device, which is misleading, and therefore it truly did not meet community standards.
-----
Beelink probably pays better affiliate fees from their own site (since they don't have to pay Amazon fees and are charging more for the device), so the post was pulled for "not meeting community standards".
(first time commenting on something like this, just speculation, please don't hate me slickdeals overlords I love this site)

It's basically the guts of a laptop squeezed into a small case, no screen, no keyboard, no battery. Find similarly spec'ed laptops and adjust the price to see if you can get around $600. I think you could.
