Have we ascertained what/if anything is coming in its place?
Most plans suck or are worthless. Tandy had decent ones if you knew how to use the system correctly (and which to avoid) and Apple was a great deal when it was just "AppleCare" and you could lock a 3-year mfg warranty to a piece of hardware and sell it after 2 years.
I was specifically told when I asked at Costco why it was going away and they cited poor value.
I doubt there will be nothing if not at least price trimmings here and there. Costco pays attention to quality what they offer. If it ends up being a long-term value, they'll have something custom made under kirkland name for a bit cheaper and stop carrying it if they can't carry it at reasonably stable prices.
Keeping an eye on price increases, they're the only grocer in my area that didn't jerk the price of meat up as soon as it 'went up' (gas station logic). The prices didn't go up on a lot of stuff until they exhausted their existing chain.

I do not think Costco will do anything in conjunction with the dropping of the Citicard benefit. Two different companies. They may renegotiate their contract or may already have one in the works with Citicard. They may switch to another card. That's the only thing the consumer may see change. Costco's profit margins are already low. They make more of their profit from membership fees.
