Pricing isn't too complicated since the bundle makes any board the same price.

12900k - $450ish.
12700k - $350ish.
12600k - $300ish.

Add tax or don't depending on where you are.

It's a really solid deal if want to reuse DDR4 or jump up to DDR5 and get up to 10% or so better performance.

The 12700K DDR5 looks like the sweet spot of price, performance and value to me, but YMMV.

Why bother with a 790 at this point when you can get a quality 690 board for $50? The additional capabilities are pretty much laughable and it's a "dead" socket either way.

So about the cheapest combo is $296.98(?).

Not a bad price, especially considering the solid ASUS Z690 motherboard platforms tied to these combos (those motherboards are typically $150-200 retail). It might be helpful to list out the combinations (as there are a limited number of CPUs in combination with a specific subset of motherboard models).

Good luck!

I am just too lazy to list every one of the combo. I got my 12700k for $300 and TUF z690 board for $240 a while ago. Saw this combo is selling for $350 right now. I am assuming it is a good deal. Well, I might be out of the computer world for too long and these are not good deal anymore?

Waiting on x3d chips next month, otherwise I'd pick this up if running lower than 4090 or strict 4K.

I'm looking to build a new rig in a couple of months and while these are good deals, they're good deals because they are dead-end, last-gen CPUs and mobos. They aren't junk by any stretch, but there's no path forward. Intel always orphans sockets and limits upgradability, so it's always a new start.

That said, the prices on AM5 are harsh. When I built my current rig in 2015, the mobo was $160 (Gigabyte X99-UD5 WiFi), CPU $300 (i7-5820K 6C/12T), 32GB RAM (DDR4-3200) was $180. A comparable 6-core 7600X is $248, but the 7900X is $418. AM5 mobos with good features for the long-haul start around $280, but the really good ones are $350 and $500. The Supa 1337 G4m3rZ boards are $700 and up with silly lighting for those Disco Aquarium builds the kiddies like because they park their boxes on top of their desks. DDR5 RAM is pricey, but about where DDR4 was then, so it's a wash. 32GB of DDR5-6000 is $150-$170.

Basically motherboards are the big problem.

The Gigabyte X99-UD5 WiFi was $300 at launch, even the UD4P was $260 for what that's worth.

If you or someone you trust can access a Microcenter then AMD is cheap as anything. I missed a promo discount and still got a 7700X, B650E board, and 32GB of 6000 kit for $535 before taxes. That combo is still available for $570 before extra promotional stuff.

A good AM5 board is the ASRock B650E Riptide at $240. There's no real point to spending more for AM5 with this gen. It has all the core features of the platform including PCIe 5.0 GPU + M.2 on an 8-layer board with an overbuilt VRM. Even Newegg will drop $50 off if combo'd with a 7700X.

They were running bundles at these prices since before black Friday. It is nice that you have more options for motherboards, though

Don,t waste you time with MicroCenter !! At one time they were a #1 competitor in the DIY Computer Market!!! But have slowly gone sooooo downhill that now they cannot even put together a decent advertising campaign!! "not available ... Not Available ... NOT AVAILABLE!!!" and THAT only AFTER clicking on a half a dozen choice trees to drill kdown to what you MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN ...but ONLY IF THE PRICE WAS SOMETHING TO COMPETE WITH AMAZON or NEWEGG !!! Nothing here but ...NOTHING !!! :-(
What are you on about? The cpu parts separately are $275 to $300 alone just for the 12700k. Not to mention the board is also listed as $215 to $245 depending if WiFi is a feature.

I really wish the would restock the Z690 Tuf ddr4. Been refreshing every two hours on the store close to me.

I wish there is some bot or alert that would notify me once the mobo gets in stock so I dont recheck every two hours
