Instead we're paying lobbyists to prevent the tax code from being simplified, or otherwise made accessible for us.

I purchased this and when you get emailed the code from Newegg there are links to either download the PC or the Mac version.

Looks like it's finally time to buy--was waiting for it to hit $15, and this is close enough

So honest question: Is this software worth spending a few dollars on instead of doing the Credit Karma/Cash App free filing?

I had used Credit Karma for years and it worked just fine. No costs and pretty straightforward. When they sold to Cash App, I've been less impressed. The whole hand off between the mobile app and the website is super clunky.

For this price, is it worth just going the H&R Block software route every year?

HR block software has remained compatible with windows 7. But just wanted to check. I keep my financials on an old computer I don't go online with. So wondering if anyone can comment if it's still compatible with windows 7

I used Cash App Taxes last year and it was great.. got the same exact results as another one I tried (might have been TaxAct). This year, I'm a bit more concerned.. since I've been using Betterment robo-adviser which is constantly doing trades on my behalf. I also have TLH+ enabled, so I guess we'll see what happens.

I bought this and the newegg confirmation gave the product key and a download link for both Windows and MAC. I'm only downloading the Windows version so I CANNOT confirm that the MAC works also.

A lot my hesitation is switching is not wanting to have to re-enter all the information that's already stored in Cash App. I just hate their stupid handoff between the mobile app (required) and the web version (where you actually want to enter info).

That really wasn't an issue for me at all. I have Android 13 and Windows 11 Enterprise, everything was seamless. My main concern is whether it can import my (potentially huge) 1099B properly.
