Instead we're paying lobbyists to prevent the tax code from being simplified, or otherwise made accessible for us.

I purchased this and when you get emailed the code from Newegg there are links to either download the PC or the Mac version.

So honest question: Is this software worth spending a few dollars on instead of doing the Credit Karma/Cash App free filing?

I had used Credit Karma for years and it worked just fine. No costs and pretty straightforward. When they sold to Cash App, I've been less impressed. The whole hand off between the mobile app and the website is super clunky.

For this price, is it worth just going the H&R Block software route every year?
Yes, the desktop software gives a more complete product, and where you can check out everything at your own pace and convenience.

If you click on the link it shows the Uber Eats GC has both Uber and Uber Eats logo, indicating you can use it for both.

any comments on how this compares to turbotax. have used that for years with no issues.
Probably comparable. I believe you can even import your Turbotax files. Give it a try.

Thanks! It is one or the other or can you use both? The software comes with a code that allows you to efile up to 5 times right?

I have robinhood account for trading. Do cash app/credit karma help with filling for stock?
TIA

I did the same and got download links for both. I called H&R Block and they said they are different versions but if you purchase 1 version and call them they can send you the other version.

My Macbook is at home so I'll try it later on but I'm pretty sure the product key will work for both platforms. If not they'll work with you.

I have the same question. Does this software still let us e-file through h&r or do we have to file ourselves in irs portal using the pdf generated by this software?

People are paying a small fee for their very personal data not to be sold to the highest bidder. At least that's the theory with still paying for TT or HRB

I have used both. I would say they are both good software and do exactly the same thing. I would give TT the slight edge for people new to doing their own taxes. TT is typically twice or more as expensive as Block. So you pay a lot more for that extra handholding if you do not need it. Its your choice if TT is worth the extra premium. They both do the exact same thing well.
