Anxious to see some size specs and and reviews. Bought some home minis a few weeks ago. Mini was an exaggeration. Surprised how small they were…music to match. Some were comparing them to Sonos Ones…not even close.
Not sure who compared them to Sonos one....if anything echo dot and mini wins hands down

Based on how many people want these from you, I am guessing it's not trash lol.

Maybe you just don't know how to use it

In stereo mode as a pair with Apple TV 4K. Yes these new home pods are better than the sonos

As a frame of reference, My home theatre uses Bowers Wilkins so I know my audio

Would not buy another HomePod after my OG gen 1 mysteriously died one morning. I took it to the Apple store to see if they could repair it. They gave me some bs excuse that since they no longer manufacture the big HomePods, they wouldn't have any spare parts laying around. Instead, they tried charging me full price for a replacement. Then boom fast forward 3 months, Apple rolls out gen 2 with what seemingly to be the same chassis and interchangeable parts.

Perhaps. They do pop up throughout the year, but there are often limits as to how many somebody can buy.

I remember the last $100 Apple Gift Card I bought was from Amazon, I think it was around Black Friday, but was only allowed to buy 1.
If you search SD for apple gift cards, you'll see deals every month of last year from Target or Best Buy etc.

The limit was higher than 1 in my experience. I bought a few last year at different times. Plus there is always in store. (cue the stories of people getting ripped off on in-store Apple gift card purchases. )

last this thing is not shipping for awhile yet as it is.

So I would wait a bit. Albeit a Best Buy gc isn't cash and someone might not have a use for it. A Target gc is more like cash given they sell essential toiletries and food.

Thanks. Yes, I do remember seeing a few deals for Apple GCs at Best Buy and Target, and that would work well for people who do have a specific use for a Best Buy or Target gift card. I think the deal was buy a $100 Apple Gift Card and get a $15 BB or Target GC for free.

I've also seen a few deals for "iTunes cards" on here recently, but I'm going to stay away from those, as iTunes cards aren't sold anymore in the US I think, and I've read about people getting into trouble with their account after getting those cards. If something smells shady, I tend to avoid it.

In my particular case, I'm interested in gift cards where 100% of the deal can be added to my Apple account, since I'll be purchasing directly from Apple. I'm actually not in the market for Homepods at the moment, and my next Apple purchase will probably be a desktop sometime this year. I'll partially pay with whatever gift cards I have saved up and the remainder I will pay with Apple card and split the payments over 12 months.

Best Buy price matched Costco on the first try. Usually they fight about needing a membership, guess got lucky.

These HomePods , unlike the Mini, are Dolby Atmos capable , when paired with Apple TV 4K.

So essentially you can get yourself a better than average Dolby Atmos home theater setup for $700

Of course with added benefit of it being a home assistant
