I was just at a local Home Depot to pick up some shelving hardware and I saw that they had a bunch of Milwaukee M12 2.5Ah & 5.0Ah Battery Sets going for $99, which is basically a steal. They normally sell for $199 and are currently on sale on their web site at $149, but for some reason they had them marked down another $50.

Milwaukee 2.5Ah & 5.0Ah Battery Set $99 [homedepot.com]

I thought it was a mislabel but I asked an associate and he said that it's the correct price. When I went to ring it up it came up as $99, so I snagged one. I've been looking to get an additional battery as I have 6 M12 tools now but only 5 M12 batteries, but assumed that these would be to pricey for me as they only came out last year and are supposed to be their best M12 batteries right now.

If you need additional high-capacity M12 batteries, this is too good a deal to pass up. I mean, seriously, don't wait, just get it. You can always return it if you don't need it (or resell it online for a markup). I don't know if this deal is only running at the Home Depot I went to (it's the one in Glendale, Queens NYC), or if it's at all their stores. Unfortunately it's an in-store deal as the online price is still $149.

I'm curious if others come across this deal at their local Home Depot. Post here if you do. If you're near the store I got this at, it's in an end cap at the far end of the aisle between fasteners and tools, towards the back of the store. They had around 10 of them IIRC. I didn't check the section they normally put batteries in but if it's the same SKU it should ring up as $99.

I've been wanting to try one of these. I'll probably swing by tomorrow to check my local HD.

Brickseek lists it as $149, but as "Clearance", and as you can see from the receipt image I posted above, it's selling at $99, and appears to be available in all stores near me. The yellow clearance label actually said this was the price as of late December IIRC. Am I missing something and is there a good reason this hasn't been a deal here?

Decent deal, as the 6.0 was going for at least a hundred before they started trying to get rid of the a few months ago. The small 3.0 that the 2.5 replaces was going for around sixty or so.

This is mostly to see the stock. If it's clearanced - you need to go to the store to see what is actual clearance price.

If you enter your zip code in Brickseek it'll list local inventory and say "Clearance". At least it is near me. And I absolutely paid $99 for it (plus tax of course).

There was a 4 & 6Ah + charger deal for $89 last year, but they no longer sell that kit. No charger with this but most people already have several.

Picked up this deal about 2 weeks ago. Its only in store that it's $99. I went to a few different HDs since then and ever single one has had them in stock and at that price. Surprisingly it's not hard to find.

I saw this in store earlier today but I don't have much m12 stuff so I passed. I don't love how thick and bulbous the m12 grips are. This is still a very good price.

But I don't think there is much added benefit you get from these, because "High Output" doesn't mean 21700 cells like it does in the m18 line (or other battery powered tools). The battery insert-into-tool design of m12 doesn't allow for larger diameter 21700 battery cells, so these are higher input due to using higher discharge 18650 cells. So you probably won't get a large boost in performance with these relative to their equivalent capacity standard batteries.

It's still a really good deal if you need extra batteries, which I did. And I don't need extra performance so much as extra capacity. I've been more than happy with the performance of my previous generation M12 batteries, and I have all of them except the 3.0XC. The one tool I have that really goes through batteries is the right angle die grinder. Great tool btw.

Just saw this in the Q&A:
Quote :
The cp3.0 generally uses Samsung 30q 18650s. Only 15amps max continuous discharge. The 2.5 uses Samsung 25S cells, 25amp max continuous. There are 3ah cells that can do 25amps, like the LG HG2, but they cost more.

Bulbous

LOL they are quite bulbous. The M18 grips feel way better.
