Vizio M7 75" was a front page deal recently for the same price. The TCL fares much better on rtings.com with an impressive mixed usage score of 8.0. The M7's mixed usage score of 7.7 suffered mostly due its sports and TV show ratings.

I had the TCL 6 series in my old place. Will I notice a difference here?

It would be hard to know. The thing to remember is if you enjoy the image quality, does anything else matter? The sites that review these are doing side by side comparisons, using measuring devices, etc. General consumers are just doing the eye test with a single device in front of them. We have a 4 series and older 6 series (P607). After tweaking settings, it is really hard to tell the difference with general viewing in comparable viewing environments (night time). The 6 series is in our basement so there is rarely much light to compete with, but the 4 series is on the main floor in a room with a ton of windows. Even when we had them reversed, the sun shining directly on either TV impacted things more than the technical differences between the two.

Just make sure you tweak picture settings (at a min, take it off eco mode), and my guess is you will be pleasantly happy. That advice holds for whatever TV people buy - they usually come on a power saving mode that impact brightness.

My Samsung (7~ years old but top of the line at the time) came on a power saving mode that dynamically adjusted the brightness but the sensor or software was awful because the brightness was just constantly changing like every 10-15 seconds. Awful.

6 series has the Mini Led, will be brighter and review shows overall much better picture quality as well. And don't forget 6 series has high fresh rate as well.

Is the is a newer model? I bought TLC with GoogleTV last year and it sucks. I put Roku Ultra in it but the TV goes to a deep sleep where I have to unplug it to be able to turn it on again. I'm guessing it's a software problem since I never had a problem with roku tvs. Dont buy TVs with googleTV unless its a high end tv with good processor in it.

Depends on what you are watching. Most ppl stream their media these day and you will barely see a difference btw mid to high end range on those format.

Dang. My 5 Series 55" return policy just lapsed. Otherwise 75" for this price is a steal. If you're ok with 60hz this deal can't be beat.

I got the 55" 5 series google slick deals version a month back but had to return it. More of a my situation problem than the TVs fault. Had the worst viewing angles. Even on the left or right side of 3 seat couch colors changed pretty badly. The swivel chairs to the left and right of the couch it was so washed out it was almost unwatchable.
