Because the QLC has DRAM which helps with the lifespan of an SSD that has an OS on it

Which Crucial drive? The MX500 would potentially be superior to this, assuming you get the TLC version (there are unconfirmed rumors of a QLC variant). Though, the MX500 will have less DRAM, only 512MB vs 2GB. The Crucial BX500 would absolutely be worse and I don't recommend it under any circumstances.
