Alright - so I just completed my purchase with EPP and think it turned out very well.

Here's what I ended up with / paid (EPP prices paid in bold and discounts based on retail prices in parenthesis):

65" Frame TV (2022) - $1,359.99 ($640.00 discount)
65" Frame Customizable Bezel - Modern Brown - Free ($199.99 discount)
Professional Installation / Mounting - Free ($120.00 discount)
HW-Q910B 9.1.2ch Soundbar w/ Dolby Atmos - $350.00 ($949.99 discount)

Subtotal (pre-tax) for all of that was $1,709.99. I also used Paypal with the 4% cashback offer activated and a cashback link for $50 additional cashback (could not locate the $100 I've seen mentioned by others).

Assuming cashback comes through as expected, should get a total of roughly $125 cash back for a net subtotal (pre-tax) of ~$1,584. Great deal in my opinion.

For context, the free frame and free installation / mounting via assisted checkout through chat support, and soundbar automatically adjusted down in the cart without chat assistance (EPP pricing is currently $450 which is a great deal, but it knocked an extra $100 off for combining with the TV purchase).

EPP. Not sure what the pricing is for first responder or EDU (even though we qualify for both, I don't have either setup since EPP is almost always the cheapest option).

They are on sale but not as big of a discount. For instance the 65" is $1700 at most retailers right now ($300 off)

I have 4 frame TVs in our house. In two locations I use them nearly exclusively for art/family photos. In our formal Livingroom I have a 65" over the fireplace that only has art on it and in my office I have a 32" on the wall that has images of my kids on it. I have a 75" in our family room over a fireplace and a 65" in the master bedroom that isn't used very often but does show art during the day so it's not just a box on the wall. I also have deco frames on two of them, and highly recommend those also. When you add the deco frame it really makes it seem like art. I care far more what these look like aesthetically in my house than how they perform as a tv, so I'm very happy with them

I did exactly that. Have it in the dining room. Mostly displays art. I think I paid $4 for the art membership. I also bought some controllers but haven't used in in game mode yet. I do use it as a tv sometimes too. That surprises.guests when they find out it's not just a picture. I do like it but it doesn't get much use

Surprisingly one of the reps gave me codes for free 2 yr warranty and free installation. But I was able to only apply 1 at a time. However it stacked the free bezel promo

Why is there so much hesitation about the quality of the product as a TV? Are they really not a good TV to watch movies in a family room type of environment?

Absolutely, and like others have stated, I now have several in the house. The most relevant use case is a 65" over the fireplace in the family room displaying art, very well. An adjacent wall has a high end large TV for any watching, though only occasionally. When it is called for, both can display sports. It is not an amazing picture - Q6 quality, if I remember correctly, but it is competent. Others in the house function primarily as art in rooms that rarely call for tv; when used for TV, the picture and sound are very decent, though not exceptional.

I put it on a credit card that doubles the warranty (note that Costco Citi no longer does as of earlier this week) and took the free mounting / install.
