From my experience, you can cancel the subscription at any time.

You'll have at least the first year for the subscription, but yes you should be able to cancel it at any time to not keep the sub going forward and still utilize all that the camera itself offers.

no, I don't need GPS (off) nether screens (also off)
as result for any day riding activity I'm not sure that mini will work
it's likely will be good for a drone, that has to be recharged under 15 - 30 min flight, even some comes with battery replacement
so, how practical to have built in battery?
what will you do in an year or two when will be no juice in that battery? replace whole Mini?
does Mini work with power bank? while inconvenient, but might work for some use cases
my 2c
