Every single Gopro I've had (my first was a Hero 5 black and I have 4 now) overheats, shuts down and sometimes corrupts videos.

Honestly don't see the value of this. Barely 20 gms lighter than the regular 11 missing both screens non removable battery and even in terms of size barely any smaller than the regular 11. I don't see any true value unless it was the size of the older session.

Just want an action cam that I can rely on. Insta360 One R was not it as the over heat or the software fails often. Is Dji the answer?

The subscription is actually well worth it in this case. Makes all the accessories about half price, I love the cloud storage and auto upload features too. I'd pay the subscription just to save money on batteries and accessories tho

If you plan to use it in snow sports, beware that battery runtime is even worse when it's cold. I use 2-3 batteries for my GoPro 10 for a day of snowboarding easily if I'm really filming to put clips together.

if you have several Hero 5's and you get the gopro subscription, you can actually trade them in for one of the newer GoPros. Depending on the customer service rep you get through chat or e-mail, they might upgrade you to a 9, 10, or even 11.

I traded in my gopro 5 and got a hero 9. I then traded my hero 7 and I got a hero 10. The rep was really nice in chat and waived the upgrade fee as well.

YMMV on which new hero you get.

The 9, 10, and 11 that I have haven't had any overheating or shutdown corrupting video issues.
