Got the black dial with leather band last time, still wear it every day. Really great watch. The orange on the leather/button is not near as bright as in the picture, it's very muted/neutral.
Hi, my old Ball watch crystal, made of glass, it is cracked, where to replace it? And how much approximately?
Thanks!
Any watchmaker or jeweler can replace the crystal. I would expect $200 or so. Has it ever been serviced? Mechanical watches should be serviced every 5-10 years. Check your local jewelry stores and see if they offer that service.

I would suggest finding a local watch repair shop instead. Cut out the middleman, so to speak
I heard Ball is now owned by Chinese/hongkong firm. Is that true?
Didn't realize they were bought out. I still think this is a great price and i think many people find it irrelevant who owns the company. For those who think it matters, found some interesting info on its ownership here: https://www.watchuseek.com/thread...p.5360860/

Yes and no. They are but they have been since they were revived decades ago. There wasn't any new change of ownership.
In other words, I'd say "Ball is still owned by Chinese/HK firm" rather than "Ball is now owned by Chinese/HK firm".

For those that it matters to, I recommend reading that thread closely because it says the same as what I pointed out above. I think it's a little misleading to say it was "bought out". It was a dead company when this happened years ago.

Interesting. I don't really care what company owns them unless it is a Chinese company. In that case I would probably not buy the watch brand. I'll have to do more research on this.
Watch stores in almost all cases are also jewelry stores. I was not aware there were specialized stores for watches. Cool!
He means watch repair place, not a watch store. They are very, very different things. And they exist. If you own a mechanical watch, you absolutely need to find a good repair place for at least periodic cleaning. I have a little collection, about 60 of them ranging from 100+ to about 30 years old, mostly from the 60s. So have a few watch repair shops that I use.

That's fair. Everyone has their reasons.
Ball makes nice watches but there are a lot of other good watch companies out there, so I would just skip them unless you really watch one with tritium tubes.
