A lot of brands I seem to be unfamiliar with...

Are these drives reliable?

They bought Intel NAND business. But even before, they were well known for businesses, not for consumers.

P31 is their first consumer NVMe SSD, now they have P41. So P31 is cheaper than before (79.65 was lowest price so far).

Yes, one of the best available, e.g. see Best SSDs 2023: From Budget SATA to Blazing-Fast NVMe [tomshardware.com]
Although P41 version is a later and faster version than P31, whether your system will and can take advantage of that is a different question - the cheaper P31 may be a better choice for you.

I got my first SKH SSD over 6 years ago in a new Dell laptop so they've been around for a while. I used it for over a year, then replaced it with a larger Samsung so it was idled for a while, but I've been using it again as an external and it's been fine.

I'm also typing on a 2TB P31 right now that I've had for 5 months now. Great drive and it runs very cool (under 40 often, but I can push it into the mid-50s when doing video conversions). I also don't notice any speed difference between it and my 2TB 980 Pro in another laptop....

put these in your laptop, if you going desktop, grab the p41's.

but in all honesty, unless it throttles(which this one won't), you won't tell much of a difference.

You are correct. They joined the Consumer SSD market a while ago but lasted very short. It was SATA3 SSD. Then, rejoined with P31 (and with also SATA3 version).

People may see Hynix RAM on their PCs/laptops or Hynix SSD because they were mostly sold to large PC and Laptop manufacturers.

I recently purchased an Intel 670p, so was it old stock or what? I don't get it

IDK, do you know when 670p was released? The purchase happened in late 2021 if I remember correctly so not so long ago. And even if it was released in 2022, it is still supported by Intel because the purchase doesn't finish in a day or two.

Seems like it was released in early 2021, so maybe it is old stock
