Lowe's has this 40 piece set on clearance. As always, YMMV, since clearance items are store specific. I was able to pick up the last one at my store, even though it said 6 were in stock.

Above average bits, for sure, especially at this price. The Bosch cases are A+. The transparent clamshell box can be swapped out for additional red holders. I can't believe Bosch hasn't done a better job to offer and market these cases independent of the bits themselves. Amazingly well designed bit storage.

Brickseek showed 7 at mine. I couldn't find them. They had the sets in 3 different spots, but only in different sizes. Not the 40 piece.

Mine said 14 available, found only 2. There is a 40 piece that is almost exactly the same but has slight differences that isn't on sale

i just got 3 of these. my store had them all in a big display box up on the rafters. so be sure to bring the item number and ask where they are. this is a good deal but light on flat head screwdriver bits.

I found one of these sets instore and I bought it. On the packaging it says 'impact tough' not 'impact rated'

'Impact-rated interface' might not be the same thing as 'impact rated' and could be some marketing BS. 'Impact-rated interface' might just mean it fits in a hex impact driver.

That said for 6 bucks it is totally worth it

being impact capable is really a matter of design. when the bits have a skinny section in the middle that makes them impact ready. what happens is the bits can twist during impact use a little in the skinny section and then bounce back like a torsion spring without breaking. if the bit were thick diameter and solid and not so long it could not twist much during torsional impact operation and may crack or break. the better the hardness for resistance to wear during impact, the more brittle the bit and more likely to crack during torsional impacts. im a mechanical engineer and designed valvetrains and cams for many years. so rest assured these are impact bits by design, and the skinny section allows for better heat treat and hardness to resist wear and last longer as well.

If the manufacturer of impact rated bits really cared about reviews or listen to comments of the consumer, they would stop making the 1-inch length. The smaller length might be nice in 2% of situations where the area of use is tight to work in. Getting a 1" bit out, that is 3/4 way into the barrel of the driver, is impossible without pliers. Just make the bits at least 1.5 inches long and increase your sales drastically.

I guess you could struggle with that, or just use them with the included adapter as god intended.
