The $30 closing fee only applies to 'Charged Off' accounts AKA accounts in delinquency. There should be no fee (that I can see in their fee schedules) for closing an account. You should be plenty fine to just close the account after you get the promo cash.

Can't share referrals here, but you can find new referrals easily on reddit.

I was chasing/hopping banks for the best yield, but been pretty happy with Wealthfront so just moved most of my funds there for now. I continue to keep an eye out for better yields, but so far they beat most and are usually pretty quick to increase their rates when the fed does their hikes.

Anyone able to verify the promo code was applied to the account they opened? I'd hate to go through all this trouble and not get the $400 due to some technicality.

That's exactly what I'm wondering. Is there anyway to confirm this is targeted vs universal so long as you entered the promo code?

(I suppose I can try calling them tmrw)

Is this cash account not a CD, correct? Money can be cashed out at any time without any penalty?

I am paid 1099 for business consulting. They normally issue me a check. I could ask them to pay me through ACH. Can anyone tell me if that would qualify as DD or is this just for W2 employment only?

Tried to open an account with the code with Chrome and the code didn't work,
Same with Edge browser, after that I tried to open an account with a chrome incognito tab and it all worked. I'm in VA.
