Keep in mind that the Rtings review is for a 65" with an ADS/IPS panel. This 85" has a VA panel, so overall it will perform better than the Rtings review suggests... especially for movies.

Excellent price.

Local dimming, bright picture, 4xHDMI 2.1, solar charging remote, solid build quality.

For just $400 more, this is a better deal than the lg86 and Sony85 deals posted recently.

Frontpage worth deal.

Employee email address sign up or AAA membership and access via AAA discount portal by searching Samsung, then shop now and validate identity for access to discounted Samsung. So far appears to be the same as EPP program pricing.

I'm chatting with support right now but I'm not sure how to get them to give me the extended warranty
I asked about Samsung Care+ and waited for details (length vs price) to which I responded with "is it worth it" , "do these tvs break easily" and at that point they offered 2 years for free if I bought on the spot through the rep created express cart link others have mentioned.

Bought a AAA membership for this just now and when I try to login to the discounts.aaa.com samsung section it tells me: Invalid credentials or non-existent account.

I've verified that the account is valid and can login to aaa.com generally. Any ideas on why this error is occuring? I've tried by name and by membership number and I verified my account via the automated email.
Any help on this? Hoping to resolve before this discount goes away or sells out.

It may take AAA 24 to 48 hours to update their membership database. Don't think that is instant.

If you use a credit card with a 1-year extended warranty (like Chase Sapphire), does it add to the Samsung Care+ 2-year plan (totaling 3 years) or only adds to the original 1-year warranty (totaling 2 years)? If it only adds to the 1-year warranty, are you better off using the extended warranty card and buying through a cash-back site like Raku10 which gives 2% back on TVs at Samsung?

Thanks asterx, after getting shut down on the promo, I used you as my example... Lol
Allegedly the "free Samsung care promotion" expired but after mentioning you they included it.

"a friend of mine was offered the Samsung care with this tv 5 hours ago.

Operator message sent at 06:47 AM:

Congratulations as you are a valued customer of Samsung, I have got an approval for Samsung Care+ offer which was expired and this promotion has only extended for you on your todays purchase.

Operator message sent at 06:47 AM:

Anyone mind dming me an order number where Samsung Care+ was attached for free? Having issues with support adding it?

EDIT: NVM, got it taken care of. had to refuse delivery with the shipper and get a refund on the first order then a new order was placed with chat.

I think I got the 65" version of this last year for around the same price. My only complaint with mine is that it's not bigger. I'd recommend it if you're on the fence and are thinking about the >$1000 price range.

The way I read the Chase language, their one additional year tacks on at the end:
"The Extended Warranty Protection benefit extends a valid original manufacturer's U.S. repair warranty of three (3) years or less or a store-provided or store-purchased dealer warranty by one (1) additional year. Coverage is limited to 4 years for a three-year warranty. This coverage begins at the end of any cumulative warranties, provided or purchased, and provides 12 months coverage after those warranties have expired. All coverage is secondary and only covers what would have been covered under the original or store provided or store-purchased warranty."

If it's a VA panel, how about viewing angles?

Excellent deal. Best 85" price pound for pound yet. Makes $2000 sound a lot even for the qn90 or 95b at 2500$. No way to justify it with 80b at this ridiculous price.

If you're in the market for 85" TV and don't want to spend 2k+ , buy this NOW. I rarely say that
Thinking about pulling trigger on this.... Thanks for info...

Sorry to hear, keep your chin up. SDR brightness would be most important to daytime TV, and get the biggest screen that will fit to make it easier to see. If you've got a ton of OTA channels, try looking for something with ATSC 3.0 NEXTGEN TV and you might get some free 4k depending on your market.

Thanks for the support and the interesting link RE: ATSC 3.0. Thai isn't a priority due to no 3.0 being deployed near me currently. Something to consider in the future tho'

what if I want to spend $2000? Then what would be the option?

What is the difference between QLAD and NEO QLAD ?
Is it worth getting NEQ QLAD vs regular QLAD ?
