Depends on which ones you're referring to. There are many variations of even the basic speedmaster; which crystal is used hesalite or sapphire; manual wind or automatic and many others.

Here's a site that I've used in the past:

I don't wear my Speedmaster often, but when I do, I love it :-)

Time to get a Canal St special
Buy an inexpensive original Swiss watch such as Tissot, Certina, etc than get fakes. You will never be happy owning fakes because even if you made people think you rock the original you know what you've got. Replicas will also put you in an awkward position and at times forces you to lie.

Anyone looking for luxury watches should definitely just make a daily habit of checking for sale sections at the big watch forums. Get the watch you want without eating the depreciation. Just make sure of really good pictures and sellers with good reputations.
thanks for your insight. can you recommend watch forums you have had good luck with?

Tudor is the best value. The Black Bay 58 is the new Sub.
Not really. The best value is the Grand Seiko. A Watch is that beats the best Swiss movements and is more accurate than anything Omega or Rolex can throw.

Personally, I'd still go with the Speedmaster being an iconic watch. No watch maker can topple the fact that it was taken to the moon and still function like it was worn on earth gravity.

Wait till more silicon valley layoffs. They're not getting paid for getting massages at work anymore. My mouth is watering just thinking about lower prices on everything
70,000 tech jobs gone in 2022 and 70,000 ytd in 2023. Brutal and why our RE prices are dropping. SF commercial RE vacancy rate is 28% and expected to hit 35%. Ouch.

Timezone and Watchuseek and Chrono24 come to mind. Don't be in a rush. There are a plethora of options for any budget. Learn your wrist size and find wristshots (pictures of various sized watches on various sized wrists).
You don't want a watch too big or small for your wrist. Prices and fees/shipping are negotiable but be respectful and don't ask someone to sell his 6k watch for 2k. Many sites have places to leave feedback re: your transaction. Do this, seller will do the same. Read and follow any forum rules and remember you're the "new guy" there and sellers get scammed as well as buyers so many are cautious. Have fun and learn before you buy!

Quoting myself here instead of editing that mess. Research is key! Once you've decided on the specific watch you want, search the internet for the rock bottom price at reputable gray market sites. The worst possible thing you could do is pay 3k for a used watch you could have bought new for 2.7 online somewhere.

The new speedmaster pro racing got introduced recently. I have a speedy racing panda dial. So nice. But man the new speedy pro racing looks awesome.
I didn't know there was one. I checked the pricing and it costs more than the moon watch?

Yes, I like this advice better than the first one. Sometimes used prices from reputable owners are pricier than people think. If it is too low then you have to worry about authenticity. Can you really find a pre-owned speedmater racing chrono for less than 3150 in the US from a reputable place? i seriously doubt that.

Yep! They've had speedy racing editions since the 60's but the new ones for 2023 have the new spirate system. $10k+.

It really depends on the person. i know a succesful businessman who can afford expensive watches but wears fake Rolex. When people compliment him on his watch, he has no issues telling them it is fake. You almost even wonder if it is real and he doesn't want to let people know he would pay that much for a watch.

Point is, if you have the right swagger (and bank), it doesn't matter if you are wearing fake or not.

i have omega speedmaster. it's a nice watch, but IMO a starter watch. at the beginning, i did not feel this way, but once you get fancier watches, it feels this way. if you don't care about watches and think they are stupid, which i did for many years, then i understand. but if you get into watches, you also understand what i am saying.

Last time I check, Jomashop wasn't eligible for citizen warranty as authorized dealer.
Jomashop is widely known as being a gray market seller, you buy at your own risk. And this is an Omega, not Citizen.

Look for used ones. Lots of em up for sale all the time on places like Chrono24 and Reddit. In some cases they might have even been recently serviced too.
I have always been on the fence about buying used luxury watches, If I'm going to pay 3k plus for a watch, I want a brand new watch that nobody has owned. What is your opinion or experience in buying used luxury watches?
