Ordered this yesterday when it was on clearance for $149.97. Checked back today just because and saw it dropped to 99.97. Put in for an online price adjustment through Costco and ordered a few more since to me this is a steal at this price. Big plus for me is that this works with Home Kit.

Just to clarify this isnt the NFC version which is the lock plus. Surprisingly this got very mixed reviews. Can anyone comment on this version vs the newer one?

Oh no doubt. More common in some areas than others. I've heard stories of burglars just sawing around the whole door handle and deadbolt, why in some areas they used steel doors or have steel bars over their doors. The only thing I have to worry about in my area would be the random bad kid checking the door handle or some crazy drugged up person shaking the handle to see if it's unlocked. Someone coming around with lockpicking tools? Not a chance, plus I have visible cameras. For me my biggest issue is myself, forgetting to lock doors on my way out or after going to bed. Or my wife locking the backdoor when I'm in the garage and I can't get in through the backdoor since I don't normally carry keys with me when I work in the back. The fact my wife and I can also set a homekit routine to auto unlock the front door when we arrive home is something she is really looking forward to. Some people have different needs and I totally respect that.

If someone wants to get in, they will, even if it's through a window. This is just a way to slow them down.

I forgot where I heard it but "locks are deterrents for honest people."

If you're concerned about picking, get the original Level lock and use whatever lock you want with it

I echo what the others stated here that this is the original level lock with only Bluetooth access. I bought it a few months ago from Costco when still $200, didn't realize it was different from the Touch or Plus versions till later. Having said that, I don't think it's worth the money, atleast this version. It's way too basic and have to be within the 20 feet distance or whatever to not only get it to work, but also even know if the door is locked or unlocked.
They were supposed to Implement Matter, the universal smart home integration which would work across all smart assistants, Google, Amazon, apple, etc, but still nothing.
As for the lock itself, yes very basic and easy to pick, but as others mentioned the core can be changed to a better more secure one.
Personally, even at $99, I don't think this model is worth the premium.

Android stopped supporting NFC pairing for many things beginning AOS 10. Food for thought.
