Everything is listening to you everywhere. If not your stuff then everyone's stuff around you. Thinking automated Siri, Google assistants, appliances, doorbells, etc. aren't somehow listening these days is deluding ourselves

I would agree with you. And yet - the fewer the better. Hence why I own no "smart assistants", no "alexa", no "smart thermostat", no "smart door bels", no "smart door lock", etc., and use my own old-fashioned router and AP. Smilie
Siri being the only exception one in my case - at least it is predictable who will be eavesdropping (and won't be sending my conversations in China), and lately Apple has been slightly better than everyone else in terms of privacy.

Because those Lenovo smart clocks are the biggest POS clocks I've ever used. The LED screens constantly go out because of software bugs.

I resorted to using a full fledged Amazon Show 5 instead, and it's way better.

Only if you buy the consumer level, cloud-based junk. My voice assistant, doorbell, and other IP based IoT devices are all blocked from internet access (and flashed with FOSS firmware whenever possible). Phone and streaming services are notable exceptions, but you can at least limit who gets your usage data, depending on which devices/services you use.

You can by yourself in your home alone. But the proliferation to every watch, tv, laptop, speaker, phone, etc makes it so outside of your house or around anyone who has their tech with them it's still listening and picking you up.

I support what your doing and do the same things, it's just a losing battle we are fighting and the only answer is privacy legislation and strong regulation which will never happen in this oligarchy.

Actually the fault of late stage capitalism and pathetic boomers ceeding the government to corporations.
