Columbus, OH has some stores with $1 availability. The Cleveland Ave store has 300+ in stock of the 14lb bags. I saw the pallet with the $1 pricetag right before you enter the outdoor patio. I scooped up all but 1 of the 43 lb bags for $1 each. They had a bunch of dead stink bugs on them, must have been stored outside over the fall/winter. Thanks for mentioning this offer, much appreciated.

Did you check the Hamilton Rd store? Were the bags outside hard? Once this stuff clumps up, it's like concrete and useless.

We just moved to Virginia. Anyone knows if this works well in the grass here? Unfortunately do not know the grass type but know it's not Bermuda as that's what we had in Texas.

The herbicide, not the fertilizer, is more likely to burn your lawn. Especially if you apply when it is over 90 degrees. Read the label carefully to make sure you have the right grass type.

I got 8 bags this morning from the Natick, MA HD - there was a pallet right as you enter the front door which is almost all gone. I spoke to a worker who said the new 2023 bags are only 4k sq ft, same price as last year...

Virginia is very wide ranging in its temperature zones. Sorta in the middle between cool grasses (Kentucky Bluegrass) and warm grasses (Bermuda). Cool season grasses for Northern Virginia (ex. DC area). You also have the Shenandoah Valley area (beautiful area BTW), which can get quite cold in the winter (down in the lower single digits, snow, etc...). Then there is the SE part of the state which is very humid in the summer and warm season grasses can grow there - but will get killed during a hard winter (every 10 years or so).

Virginia Tech ( https://www.pubs.ext.vt.edu/SPES/...s-421.html ) has a great website and Turf grass recommendations. Additionally, Virginia has a pretty good county extension program and most love to talk and give their recommendations. https://ext.vt.edu/offices.html

And finally, you can dig up samples around your yard and have Virginia Tech send you back a soil test analysis with their recommendations as to exactly what you need in your lawn vs. just applying everything! https://www.soiltest.vt.edu/fees-and-forms.html (see tabs at top of page for instructions).

How so? I have been using this weed and feed trying to rid my lawn of clover for the last couple of years. My new strategy is over seeding the lawn to leave no room for the clover and weeds to grow.
