I'm actually tempted to get this for my pup. But my pound puppy has unusual body proportions (as a mix of many breeds) so getting items to fit is a struggle.

I was looking to buy one until I read the comments. Appears the rear strap may be very painful to certain parts of the male dog anatomy. I'd opt for a shorter small size, if only they had one.

It's an interesting idea, but I feel like you'd need a well trained dog for this to be even somewhat viable... The dogs I know would rip it up

Yeah, its meant for working breed dogs to give them a "job". Helps with their natural drive and mental health as a way of enrichment.

You ever actually hike with a dog? Well I'm already carrying our sleep system, tent, food and at least 2 liters of water. My dog can at least carry some of his own water and food.

I hike with my dog half a dozen times a year (2-10mile overnight hikes each way), he carries all his water, some of mine, his food in any of his supplies. They can carry a third of their body weight comfortably with these packs, and he absolutely love doing it despite what you might think, at least for my Shepherd. Only thing to watch out for is armpit chafing, the Ollydog model I have chaffed his armpits so I had to get him a little toddler shirt to wear underneath it. I think I'm going to pick this up and try it out see if it's a better fit.
