Except instead of 2x 4AH battery + charger for $99, it's 1x 2AH battery + charger for $30.
Gonna quote a user from that thread on runtimes (using a 4AH battery, so ~ halve them for the 2AH battery)
Since it's "hybrid", that means there's a male plug underneath where the battery goes in, so you can plug an extension cord into it and into the wall to run it off normal house outlet power.

I have a bunch of 4Ah batts I got from previous deals from DTO cheap like the 40V blower and battery for under 80 for the kit .

So, that said, probably not ethical but you could buy the item from HD, then return the defective one. It'll end up going back to the mfg anyways.
