Maybe even better is the 65" for only $100 more! And since the discounts are percentages, then it would be even less of a price difference than that.

We purchased a Tcl 55" on Black Friday two years ago. The tv just went out a few days ago. We bought it for around $150. I feel like the tv should have lasted a lot longer than 2 years. These are cheap tvs so don't expect them to last 5-10 years. Maybe these are made better, idk.
Today I purchased a 58" Samsung 4K tv for 399.00 from Costco, on sale. Comes with a 3 year warranty.

My Samsung died after 4 years

I'm still salty about my Samsung 1080p that I paid $1,024 for back in the day. Ended up dying after about 5 years also.

$40 a year for a TV this big isnt that huge of a problem to me (atleast in this disposable age). Plus these things are super easy to put new boards in them, and can be found for like $10-25 bucks, and just have to take out a few screws.
If its a board, yes, for 80 to 100 not 10, but if its the leds thats a real bear to do unless you are a tv technician. Products like this should not have a 1 to 3 year life on average before a major repair or death. I do like tcls features and the roku but they need serious design improvements and part quality improvements.

A friend of mine has had a TCL 65" since November of 2018 and it still works as well as it did the day he bought it.

He is thinking of upgrading as his TV only supports 60hz refresh, and he wants 120hz. Other than that the TV is great.

Not claiming all TCLs are reliable, but just providing another data point.

I have a 60" TCL. The power board failed about 2 years in, I replaced it almost 2 years ago and it's been working fine to this day. Considering I paid about $80 for the replacement board, at these prices repairing them isn't really worth it. Mine is a 6-series which I paid $999 for, so to me a repair was worth it.

Picked up a 65" and the screen was cracked. Not covered under TCL warranty. Must return it to the store.
Bad luck! Or are you blaming TCL for that? I think this could happen with any manufacturer. Was there poor packaging? Not enough protection?

Is the 10% off still available? I don't see it anymore. I do see a 15 off 100 Target Circle coupon that I plan to apply.

Paid $148 for the last two I bought. These TV adorn all my bedrooms. Ford cordcutters, this is an outstanding TV. The Roku OS provides access to free and for fee TV services. For the serious cord cutter -- no ISP -- connect to an antenna and watch 100% free tv. The TCL Roku TVs create a grid style electronic program guide from data in the RF stream (antenna signal). Plug a 16GB usb drive into the television and you can pause, rewind, and fast forward through a program. I own four of these and have installed a couple in very remote parts of Maine and New Hampshire. I highly recommend this television.

Also, I had one of these fail about ten minutes before the warranty expired. They sent a guy to my home and repaired the television at no cost to me.

Good TV for the price, UI is very slow, WiFi takes a minute or two to connect when turning on, so apps are unavailable. The picture and sound for under 300 is good enough. I would use this TV as a place holder until you want to spend money on a nicer TV.
I have the S451 and the UI is very fast on the Roku TV.
