After 5 attempts and receiving: "504 We apologize for the inconvenience as we have experienced an issue with your request" every time, I finally got it loaded in my cart BUT with $15 shipping. OP, you might want to add "JANFREESHIP" to your OP to get the free shipping.

DTOs system is really screwed up right now! Trying to check out I get " 502 We apologize for the inconvenience as we have experienced an issue with your request."

That's a good impact wrench -- and a good value at that price.

But yeah -- it looks like the website can't handle the traffic. But it doesn't surprise me that there would be so much interest when they're running BOTH a free shipping promo and a sitewide savings promo.

I'm glad I decided to place an order late last night.

As an old mechanic, I can't believe how strong this thing is. In the early 2000's I had a Snap On IM6100 air impact gun that was basically top of the line… it "only" put out 650 ft-lb of torque. This Ridgid puts out literally more than twice that of my old gun. I'd get this in a heartbeat if I had a use for it.

Yeah, this particular tool could be overkill for most applications -- I've been told it will break bolts...

Would you say that would be possible while removing bolts as well? You'd think the bolt would give loose before it broke regardless of force.

Wrong.

Ridgid honors DTO purchases. The only thing you have to make sure, is the tool is new. They will not warranty refurbished tools. They willwarranty factory blemished - new, tools.

Depends on the strength of the bolt, amount of corrosion/rust, etc. Specs are 10-20x the amount of force need to torque a lug nut on most cars -- which is probably too much for anything I (and most casual users) would need. Just read some reviews before purchasing to make sure you know what you're getting. E.g.:

Looking at the torque numbers, including Assist Mode, we recommend you don't use this impact wrench for most automotive jobs—it's too strong and can easily break bolts! Save this for the toughest jobs and use the mid-torque R86012 for day-to-day tasks.

The specifications page says it comes with a 3-year warranty.

I didn't notice this, but I'm going to assume it's an error. I will have to see what they say when I register the LSA.

It's 3 years by default if you don't register for the LSA.

The Ridgid site for this tool says it's LSA eligible.

Yes, it comes with an automatic 3 year warranty, just like other new Ridgid tools.

And just like other new Ridgid tools, if you register it, you can get the LSA (Lifetime Service Agreement). https://register.ridgidpower.com/

(Edit: And no, you don't have to mail anything in. Just upload your receipt and ask them to review your registration - works every time.)

I purchased one of these from DTO and played hell getting it fixed under the warranty. Long and short... I will not purchase another tool from DTO where I'm not OK with no warranty. Ridgid told me next time that I might want to buy from Home Depot instead. My R86211b basically started acting up after 60 days, Ridgid replaced it but like I stated... it was beyond ridiculous that it took 4 months to get a replacement tool. Let me add that DTO offered nothing other than to tell me to reach out to Ridgid.
