Depends on the genre of music one desires to play. The Fender would be more for country/rock and the EVH for rock/metal and dive bombs with the floating/double locking tremelo aka "fun stick".The Floyd Rose trem can be a pain to tune for newbies,so the Fender would be best for a beginner IMO.

Especially since the original Wolfgang model was introduced in 1996 when Eddie was still with Peavey.

I guess he would have been 5 years old then?

Pretty sure it is named after him, not his signature guitar.

These are great guitars, but I want the model with a kill switch.

If someone did have 6 bills to throw away and was interested in getting their first electric, would you do this or the strat that was on fp yesterday

My daughter wants a guitar for her 10th birthday. Do you think she'll like the striped one?

Just my two cents…for a beginner stay away from any guitar with a floating bridge like this one. I own a couple Floyd rose's and love using them but they require maintenance.

I would go with a strat, its a simple design and very versatile. I wpuld go with the SSS (all single coil) version to keep it classic but they make it with a humbucker in the bridge.

I would get her a guitar with a more standard setup like a stratocaster, that way she can work on it herself once she learns how it functions.

Strat was good enough for Hendrix. Played RH guitar upside down. EVH was right up there with Hendrix IMO. Another guy gone too soon was Randy Rhoads. Check out Crazy Train and Mr. Crowley.
