Their pocket hole jig can only make correctly centered holes at the proper angle in one thickness of stock. Those holes are fine, but if you use any other size of wood, the holes have too much angle or will be close to one edge.
3/4". The holes won't be centered on the 1/2" or 1" and will have a bad pull angle on the 1-1/4" and 1-1/2". The Kregs are adjustable to have the correctly angled hole centered in all of those sizes.
Every "sale" at HF is a giant liquidation sale...

Their wooden handle hatchet is pretty solid. Just need to give it a good sharpening.

any recommendations on a work top vise? Dont need something super duty or takes a lot of space. appreciate the thoughts.

I bought a tiny vise (2" spread?) from Amazon Warehouse deals for $17 a few months ago. It's too small for any serious work, but I bought it to hold smaller pipes and steel stock while I cut them with a dremel. Works fine for that.

You can search AMZ Warehouse with forklift.

FYI - Definitely read the fine print that the "Liquidation" Items are different from the "Clearance" items.

Only the "Clearance" items (purple tag) are 30%/40% off

The "Liquidation" Items (light blue tags) are just discounted whatever the tag says - which from OP's original link is kinda meh

Was definitely surprised by this when I went in to store. They were wiped clean on the Clearance items...

$2 for 50 feet of paracord is a good deal. Can never have too much cordage!
Just don't trust 550 lbs to it!

Some good deals to be had, but many are tiny mark-downs (Anvils look decent). Anyone try the pocket hole jig? I have a cheap Kreg one that has been working fine, but I wonder if getting a stationary one with a clamp is worth it?
The HF anvils are horrible. You are better off using a rock or maybe your kitchen counter. I got one from a yard sale for almost nothing and immediately noticed why - it's super soft cast iron. Try and use it like an anvil... you'll end up with a dent in it shaped like the material you are trying to work. Glad I only spent a couple bucks.

Sorry, I love a lot of their tools, they work often well enough for most things...but they do remind me of this joke:

Dollar25 tree also has paracord (hardware section I saw). No idea the length...

there's an additional 30% off on top of clearance price in store?
The ad shows "Plus All Clearance Items, Everyone saves 30% off In-Store Only."

Apparently, it is not all clearance items. I bought something listed as clearance on their website but did not get the 30% off. When I asked about it, the cashier said it has to be in the clearance isle to qualify.

The red Doyle anvils are actually decent. Look up a few reviews.

They're all gone, but it was quite an impressive display of their wood chippers and blenders when they got rid of them.

Didn't see that many smoking deals. Is Icon Magnetic Flash light really 800 lumens? I have two Braun ones and really use them a lot.

The few select items from HF, like the Daytona jack and the tool cart are absolute value monsters. I love my green Daytona and the tool cart, I still can't believe HF could sell those things so cheap. And a lot of their other cheap tools are life savers when you are in a pinch and brand name brands are asking 10x for one craw's foot wrench compared to the entire set at HF.

" HUGE" sale? IDK about that, but I did grab some rope, battery terminal brush, and 2 of the cheap arse side cutters that always disappear when I need one.. Not sure it was a "sale" though.

Oh, and watch out for the cheap cords! I was using the heat gun last night to unfreeze the car doors that wouldn't shut and it was -22°F. I twisted the tool and the insulation cracked and it threw sparks in my face when the cord exploded.

-22 well what do u expect? Tools have environmental temperature limits, duh
